Ive been doing that lately. I find it very comfy. I like to larp that I live in a time with no online. I love fighting games but I'm terrible at them and never bothered to lab. So for a long time I just played 2v2 survival in mugen with Leo as my CPU partner because his AI was good. Not so good that he curbstomped everyone on his own, but good enough that I could rely on him to pick up the slack.

I kind of treat them like Punch Out. Find one you really like, and find your groove with it, finding new openings, optimising your punishes. It's all fun.
