As a boomer, what do you zoomers think of our beloved Gothic, now that it's been reintroduced into the wild?

Thoughts, opinions? Has it gotten any of you to go back and try Gothic 1/2?

I liked it.

I liked it but I don't like the damage - defense = damage formula and how restrictive the world is based on enemies that you can't do damage to. The early game was a legitimate struggle until I got close to chapter 2 then it started to resemble a more conventional action game. I like that you can screw with NPCs and take their shit after you beat them. The overall story and game though was good, and I can appreciate if I wanted to do another run I could sprint around and grab stuff that would make me OP within 30 minutes instead of getting my dick eaten by wolves

I liked it a lot. For starters, not having inventory weight, stamina bars, etc. was so incredibly nice. Also liked the zero to hero sense of progression, though I gotta say the "You're just some random loser" narrative everyone was hyping up was a bit overstated, by act 2 you already become a local celebrity.
I remember playing Gothic 2 as a child, but I was too young to process it properly and never finished it, but I remember it had a proper town in Khorinis so I hope we'll get the remake sooner than later because I'm always a sucker for fantasy towns.
