How are they ever going to top Dread? The coolest part is how often the gamestate changes. The planet freezes over, the X parasite gets loose, and in every scenario it changes every area and every enemy significantly. It had one of the most consistent gameplay-story integrations I've ever seen.

Dread was a great gamePrime 4 is... ok, I guess. But neither was or will be killing Metroid. Dread was well received and sold very well. Prime 4 was definitely never going to sell well enough to pay back the sunken costs of its development, but that was probably true even before Nintendo shifted its development to Retro and they had to completely rebuild Retro's development pipeline. And presumably now that Retro has been rebuilt after a decade long stasis from Tropical Freeze to Prime Remastered and then Prime 4, I would hope they're ready to develop another game (Prime or not) from scratch instead of getting Tanabe's and Bamco's sloppy seconds to finish.
