>AIEEEEEEEE NOT MY PHYSICAL MEDIA NOT MY BLU RAYS HAVE MERC-
Here's your physical media.

>b-but that doesn't cou-
It's literally physical, and I can freely move it between PCs and play the same games fully offline.
>b-but Stea-

So? Just keep backups.

Why do consoletards keep whining about physical "going away" when PC has had it for decades?

To be fair, private trackers can sometimes have stuff that others don't.
Case in point: RED (music tracker) having a few very specific niche releases in FLAC that I couldn't find anywhere else (and yes, I'm on all the public places, as well as Soulseek, and even some private Russian groups, and some collector friends - and only RED had those specific releases).
That being said, RED hasn't been too useful since my initial discoveries, and it's also the only sekrit klub I have access to (can't be bothered to "level up" my account), and the vast majority of other popular entertainment media (games, movies, series, etc.) can usually be found in public places.
Private trackers are a massive pain with their autistic seeding requirements, and I'll usually exhaust every option to find what I want before using a private tracker.

This, hard drives are king and always will be.
Hard drives are just discs with way more storage and none of the headache.

>B-BUT SEPERATE PHYSICAL COPIES!!
Buy multiple 128GB+ drives and back up your games onto those too.
Discs will corrode to nothingness long before the options for backing up digital media expire.

You can even get space online and put copies on there too, alongside your own physical copies.
There's no reason to mourn physical for preservation purposes, it was always just there to ensure a copy existed to be backed up digitally. Console cucks have been raped since the 360 and PS4 made them pay for online play, I have no sympathy for them being raped harder they clearly like it.

What I hate about this is that it's affected the USED storage market too.

Time was I could spend a couple hundred bucks and buy like 10 6TB SAS drives but now a pack like that is $1000. For USED storage. That stuff can shit the bed just as hard as ever, the price of storage as a whole hasn't changed that, but cast-off enterprise drives were a great source for large storage solutions for data I'm just warehousing but not anymore...

I was hoping to upgrade my storage server at some point to use eight 10TB drives down the line but now I can't.
