TR Redoran might as well not exist, it has, I believe, one or two quest givers and that's it. Not worth joining as of now.
I wouldn't call TR telvanni bad, just not as realized as the Hlaalu stuff and really old/sparse.
You could probably remove your affiliation with Hlaalu with a console command though.

>>
>>742380051
Uh, not really if you gun for Vvardenfell Grandmaster, but if you stop somewhere around House Father/Councilman You have the Hlaalu family quests and the final questline for the entire Faction (which is some of the best shit in TR right now). You might need the Faction integration esp to get this to work right however, I don't know the actual mechanics, but the reputation system for TR was changed to make it harder to rise the ranks easily.
Keep in mind TR is more or less meant to be played on its own though.
>>
>>742380496
It can, you just need to add the directory where you unzipped it in the launcher.
>>
>>742380631
okay thanks for the tips, if you were going to recommend one TR Hlaalu questline which one would you start with? I've done some of bal foyen on another character but that's it
>>
>>742381184
Start with? Bal Foyen is definitely the best place to start and finishing that line gets you some really nice Light armor pauldrons.
Othmura is also a good starting line and the finale for that one has a cool quest involving going to their redone Firemoth.
Narsis starting questline is also good, but I wouldn't recommend that as a starter really. There's some stuff that will be obnoxious to pull off if you are fresh off the boat.

The only questline I didn't really care for was Shipal-Sharai which is disappointing since it's a cool little town.

I like how the entire Elder Scrolls fanbase decided the Sarpa should be bird-like feathered Argonians, despite the fact Ted Peterson pictured them as just regular lizard Argonians but with leathery bat wing arms, even in the Argonian Account book they're just described as winged rather than feathered. But then again, the RP section where he describes them in a little more detail somehow laid undetected for like two entire decades, so you can't blame both PTR and Beyond Skyrim for going the bird route.

they don't. all mages are extremely law-abiding and self-police by casting out "rogue conjurers" for any social deviancy. Even the necromancer ban of 3E was more of a civil conflict but with zombies. Mannimarco was very clear that we must support israel I mean not levitate.

It's noisy as shit if it's loose so I guess you could handwave it as being fixed to a padded backing here which would reduce the noise but really that's a wash and I'd guess the modder decided to prefer following aesthetic consistency with the vvardenfell version over logic. Then again I don't get regularly visited by them when I sleep so maybe somehow they're quiet. Someone hire a contract out on me so we can check.

Okay, might as well be the thread to ask.

I wanted to get back to either Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim, since I have all three on GOG. I'm afraid that Skyrim can be taken out of list since last time I played it, way before this whole "special edition" or whatever, I was using a lot of mods that would bring back attributes or adjust UI properly to be closer to previous games but they most probably won't work anymore. And I don't think I can play without attributes, simplified "health/stamina/magica" system was simply bad.

I don't know what's the current situation with mods for Morrowind or Oblivion. Can someone direct me to some online reputable and updated guide about what to install and what not? Thanks on advance.

openMW is enough I think. Especially if you haven't played much. Vanilla MW has hundreds of hours of playtime if you make new characters and join 1-3 factions.
And once vanilla starts feeling stale, there's tamriel rebuilt which will give you enough content for years.

Did you not read his journal?

"I believe I may have found the correct formula for the spell I am developing. With it, I will be able to travel great distances without the need to pay others for the service.

If all goes well, I will test out the new spell tomorrow. I believe I have worked out all of the possible complications. It will allow me to leap great distances, covering many hundreds of miles. Never before has one been able to travel in this manner: vaulting from the ground, sailing through the sky, all without that terrible disorientation of a spell of flying.

The time is almost upon me. My research is finished, and all of my calculations are checked and rechecked. They laughed at me when I suggested this. We'll see who laughs after I leap to the top of their towers and scream out my success. "

Quick question, I finished Morrowind around 10 years ago and I remember back then some lore drops such as the fall of Chimer to Dunmer and Azura choosing to appear to people with a Dunmer appearance as solidarity for her people. Played it again recently and I did not find those lore tidbits, anyone remember where this is evoked in-game? Was it only a book or quest/NPC related? Yeah I'm not a fan of the idea of touching the vanilla content either, flawed as it may be as far as I'm concerned it should be sacred. That's why I don't like the idea of them redoing the entirety of Mournhold. Is the closed space plaza we got that good or representative of what the majestic city should've looked like? No, but screw fucking around with it, the buildings, the sewers and spreading it across a fanfic TR city.

Yes, you have to use a mod specifically for that to happen.

Yes it looks bad because it's literally what anon wants: TR Almalexia separate from Tribunal's Mournhold. They're not going to do that anymore, he's complaining because he's a vanilla purist despite it being ugly/stupid.
>>
>>742430223
Well that pic is the city as they were thinking of doing it like a decade ago. Basically they'd keep the Tribunal area as-is as an elevated central plaza and then create the TR content around it. They abandoned that idea and now they'll just pick the Tribunal content apart and put it wherever they please. So like two buildings that were together in the official DLC may be on opposite ends of the city in TR.

>>742431289
You don't seem to get it. TR's Mournhold isn't created from scratch. There exists a vanilla version of Mournhold, officially developed by Bethesda employees in 2003. It being part of an expansion doesn't magically make its contents not vanilla to themselves, which is what TR is picking apart. And nowhere was it ever stated in TR's goals that they're differentiating between 2002 Morrowind and 2003 Morrowind.

The wizards (Telvanni) are nearly all dead due to running interference during Oblivion because all the Imperial ran off from Morrowind. Then Vvardenfell was vaporised after the rock fell. Then Red Mountain erupted. Only then did the Lizards have the chance to invade. There ain't many Dunmers left. That's why I don't like how heavy handed TR has been doing with Imperial presence in current iteration desu. The vanilla game implied the Imperial force in Morrowind are very light. All the Forts in game are okay fitting with that description. In TR they are anything but. And it's definitely not canon with TES 4 or 5 with how the Oblivion crisis goes down in Morrowind. If there are a few big asses Imperial cities in Morrowind, supposedly the HQ of the Imperial Legion, there is no way the Legion would ran like they did. However the TR team being aggressively anti any lores not from their own is typical I guess

Well yeah PTR's version of the Oblivion Crisis is not a big extradimensional invasion by hecking epic hell demons but rather the aftermath of the Imperial Simulacrum in which several prominent Imperial government spots have been secretly taken over by Daedra, there's no reason to write lore to account for TES IV's Oblivion Crisis

And they don't write Argonians as pathetic ooga booga retards either, in their Arnesian War lore the lizards actually besieged the Dres capital and pushed far enough into Morrowind for some Dunmer to make a pact with the Dreugh out of desperation, so all that shit is double unnecessary when it comes to setting up the Argonian Invasion plot (which will for obvious reasons only ever be implied to happen in the future, not shown)

>>

On one hand I like the idea of keeping vanilla content untouched, but in practice, Tribunals’ walled-in huge empty city districts are boring garbage and TR devs are pretty much in a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don’t situation with Almalexia / Mournhold. It’s probably the one area where I won’t mind it if they just redo it completely.
>>
>>742433904
It's funny that they're willing to redo Mournhold but not Sotha Sil because it'd step on trainwiz's toes.

I don't like TR's large cities. It doesn't fit in a vanilla game. Comparing Balmoral and Old Ebonheart is like night and day. The first time I looked at the Guide to Ebonheart and Bal Foyen with the whole scrawly detailed map for what each building does, I laughed. It's too much. They aren't trying to make a game navigable city
>>
>>742434050
It is though. The races all have radically different heights in Morrowind and those two are separate races from the regular Argonians. What, did you think they were just new customization options for vanilla Argonians or something?

>>
>>742432763
I feel the opposite. Vanilla quests suck compared to TR so I'd rather they stay separate, that way I'm not forced to sink into vanillaslop in the middle of a TR questline
>>
>>742433373
Tomb of the Snow Prince already does it using TR assets and it's considered 'good enough' for the foreseeable future.
>>
>>742434189
Compare Old Ebonheart to Vivec.
>>
>>742434524
NTA but while I think the city part of OE is pretty much perfect, it's hard to deny the Ebon Tower is bloated to fuck.
It's like its own little town, combined with multiple dungeons and quest setpieces, combined with an entire exhibition of every faction's assets in Tamriel_Data
That kind of thing should probably be in Almalexia, not here. But Almalexia won't exist for another hundred years so it's fair enough that they put it in OE. I just expect it to be cut down one day.
>>
>>742432492
>However the TR team being aggressively anti any lores not from their own is typical I guess
i'm okay with that, bethesda barely had any competence left after morrowind, thats why the following games feel bland and are just ripping off LOTRs aesthetic twice in a row and ESO is full of modernist crap.
>>
>>742434684
I like Vivec. Just treat every district as a different city like it is supposed to. After remembering the layout for one of them, you remember all
>>
>>742433809
Mate they literally say that's the case on the section of their website explaining the differences between their lore and the later games' lore
>Politics diverge as well. The Nordic kingdom of Haafingar, exploiting prolonged Imperial weakness, has only recently occupied the Imperial territory of Roscrea and is now stretching its greedy fingers towards Solstheim. **The Oblivion Crisis, hinted at in Morrowind's dialogue, is the result of prolonged unrest in the Imperial Province, as people fear the heirs of Uriel Septim VII are just Daedric doppelgangers planted to create disorder and ruin.**
>>
>>742434712
I mean that's all the PT fortresses. Have you seen Anvil's keep? What a nightmare.
>>
>>742434239
If they're separate races then they're not argonian. Pretty gay and furfaggy
>>
>>742435158
Never read the in-game book The Argonian Account?
>>
>>742434625
Dungeons though?
>>
>>742435158
No, since as you said yourself Morrowind has a rather barebones customization system that requires work arounds to pull off stuff like that. The different Khajiit types Tamriel Data adds are also technically separate races and creatures.

And if you're complaining about the concept of different types of Argonian then that's on your end since those are definitely canon, having been implied to exist since the Pocket Guide to the Empire and were described in relative detail in the Argonian Account in-game books.
>>
>>742435102
Not that guy not (you) not even myself but I think it's fair to say bethesda's internal cells in general are a fucking mess. I do credit morrowind for having occasional bright sparks due to not using the lego-brick method yet with little hidden gems in random spots (though I refuse to believe many fuckers found that fucking mask without prior knowledge) but post morrowind assembled prefabbed halls slapped together mean once you know them there's zero function to exploring and before you do there's zero because no dungeon/castle/etc has anything you can't find on the beaten track anyway.

Mostly unrelated but I liked the house vaults in morrowind: they aren't part of a quest, they aren't really hinted at in dialogue, but they aren't particularly hard to stumble across and give you a solid preview of what's inside due to the cage doors as well as the challenge (lots of guards walking around) so the player is given a potential quest of their own to do without grobnuts fiefguoald doesn't have to fucking tell you about it or you have to wait to be chief purse fucker of the pursefucker's union.
The simple draw of a room full of treasure and a bunch of guards does wonders to my spirit of thievery.

>>742369534

Old Ebonheart isn't going to be cut. It's their first pet project that catapult them to the success of the modern day. If anything they are going to make it more super special being the head quarter of the entire Legion in the next few expansions. The history of that city in real life was long and filled with retcon
>TR built a big Imperial City as the gateway to the entire mod
>Ebonheart is supposed to be a Dunmer city but someone made a mistake with lore
>With all the work done, it can't be abandoned anymore
>They made a new lore entirely about the history of Indoril, an Oblivion pocket dimensions, a secret Daedric Prince lore etc
>To justify the big ass city, they have it as the center of the Imperial administrative staffs in Morrowind, basically the one city that made all the decisions concerning everything Imperial in Morrowind (even though Helseth lives in Almalexia)
>Now that they are making Almalexia, Old Ebonheart can't be the central power of Morrowind anymore, they are going to move the administrative staffs and storyline over to Almalexia
>But to justify OE still being a big ass city, instead it's going to be the head quarter of the entire Imperial Legion
I'm pretty sure if OE are touched, half of the trannies involved would revolt overnight and the project would die

>>
>>742436015
I don't mean it'll be cut like the city will be removed from the game, I mean parts of it getting trimmed down. Pretty sure they already started doing this.
The Thieves' Guild first quest is getting removed. The references to Tarhiel and his appearance are removed, pieces of the quest are moved outside the city. The knight who lost his horse is having his quest cut from OE and recreated in Kragenmoor. The tournament is finally being added, but the grounds are in an exterior cell east of the city.
Basically they're not going to pack more shit into OE, they're slowly taking pieces out of it and spreading them around because it's so dense (and laggy) already.
