Game leaked, anons keeps posting your playthrough progress
>>742390821>game leakedthe game is out already bro
>>742390821The game is officially out though, and it's actually a flop
What went wrong
>>742390821How many songs are there? I haven’t played a Rhythm Heaven game and assumed there were a large amount of stages that you play in short bursts but then I saw a review and they seem full length.
Minigames are fun, a lot of them are mechanically better than even Fever and DS but the soundtrack and presentation are horrible. No standout tracks or memorable characters whatsoever.Scoring is laughably lenient. You have to make an effort to actually fail any stage. It is better than Megamix though.
It's not for me. Can't get behind the new art direction and composer. Some of the games have irl stock images and it feels too out of place
>>742392285There's a lot of blunders like the sweepers true but the moon game, bug catching family, the umbrella guys, the yakuza dancers on the cars and the little guys avoiding the thunder are memorable
>>742391087Rhythm Heaven is not a popular series you stupid nigger.
This toon kinda got a big butt...
>>742392406keep seething tendieit flopped and was underperformingI finished the game in 4 hours, it's just not up to par with silver or fever
>>742392285>No memorable characters whatsoever That's what gets me the most. What happened to the art style? These games used to have such iconic designs. Even when you compare two simple designs that are basically just cartoon animals like picrel, it’s clear how much more fun and interesting the older ones were.
Who honestly gives a shit if it isn't quite as good as Fever? Were people expecting them to catch the lightning in a bottle twice? It's more Rhythm Heaven, and it's actually new Rhythm Heaven unlike Megamix. I'll take it.
The firmware on my switch is too old to install the file, god damn I'm tired of updating this shit. Can they just stop already, it's a dead console
>>742392285>No standout tracks or memorable characters whatsoever. But Hoop Trundling is only the first minigame and it has both?
>>742392883Complaining about memorability feels like a moot point right now anyway since the game literally hasn't been out for even a day. You don't get to decide something is forgettable until time passes and you either forget it or remember it.
>>742392713pretty ogre when even some random indie game has better designs
>game is leakedit's out you retard it can't be leaked if it's OUT
>>742392967Rhythm Doctor destroys this game. It's unreal how boring Rhythm Heaven is for a game with an actual budget. I don't get how Nintendo puts out this slop with how much money they have.
>>742392947Doesn't take a genius to realize that sneezing moon is immediately iconic compared to the crabs above
>>742393109Yeah. I still love Rhythm Heaven to death and find myself singing don don pan pan in the shower, but better has been made by the indie scene.
>>742392967>>742393109Why does it feel like you're disingenuously trying to sell me some indie game by shitting on this new release?
>>742393216what am i watching
>>742393216I genuinely do not even consider Rhythm Doctor the same type of game. It's far too much of its own thing. I never played Bits & Bops though.
>>742393285these anons are talking about different games
>>742393352It's a rhythm game with 1 button that you press to a beat... how are they not the same type of game
>>742393413If you have to ask me that, then I have to assume you're larping having actually played Rhythm Doctor.
>>742392967I liked bits&bops too but let's not pretend this game had amazing designs either. You posted the best one, otherwise the characters of the game were pretty forgettable. I remember the worms, the robot dancers, the tweeting birds and the politician game. I can name a lot more characters from Fever or DS without thinking meanwhile I had to pause just to name these
>Even Rhythm Heaven is not immune to petulant whining and disingenuous comparisonYawn. I'll go talk about this game elsewhere.
>>742393507and to add, bits and bops had much less content to work with
>>742390821just got a perfect on this
>>742393285>>742393585>we're not allowed to criticize a game and just eat all the slop without question
>>742392353It's my favorite mini-game thus far, I really liked the references to past entries
>>742393585>nooo I want to see people glaze this game without criticism, where's my reddit goldgo back
So where is the torrent anons?
>>742393585To be honest, they have a point. Something is missing
>>742393873Nevermind found it, downloading it now
What's with the weird real life pictures in games? You'd think it'd be a one off but it happens time and time again. The construction worker one especially looks like shit.
>>742393873https://megaup.net/627a9becb5c0e02d5f55631bc0e5df2c/RHYTMHGROV-NSwTcH-[BASE]-XCI-Ziperto.rar
>>742390821Guys, please tell me. Is she in the game? Or is she gone forever?
>>742394032gone forever, she doesn't show up even in later remixesnot like it's a problem
>>742393832I'll admit the cameos are nice. There's another really cool callback to DS later in the game but I'll let you disvover that
the spell casting game gets really intense if you want to get 5 stars past the fifth chapter
>>742394095>gone forever, she doesn't show up even in later remixesPiece of shit trash game
>>742394193poser secondary out
>>742394223piece of shit bootlicker too
>>742393968Yeah it feels like they got inspired by tomodachi life which shares the same text to speech technology
Emulator when?
>>742392529The voice cues in their minigame sound like Alastor from Hazbin Hotel.
I hate that you have to skip a beat in Germ Aerobics, it feels so awful to play and keeps catching me outI miss my Lockstep>>742394032Not so far and I'm on Remix 13, very confused why they showed that footage in the trailer
>>742394341Yuzu, ryunjinx, any fork nigga, where have you been?
>>742394341>he doesn't know
>>742394460021 is out btw
So this is just another shit posting thread from Eric claiming the new game is bad right
>>742394396To be fair the original trailer was like a year or two before the game came out the art direction wasn't finalized. Though having said that they still used alt styles fir the samurai minigame and stuff so theres no reason they couldn't have kept this somewhere
>>742394396>very confused why they showed that footage in the trailerit was an early build, before they went with the homogenized nu-warioware artstyle
>>742393585Hey you triggered a few anons, so congrats to you!
Anyone here is french and can translate the lyrics of that one game
>>742394396>very confused why they showed that footage in the trailerIt was almost certainly in the game at that time but got replaced. Who knows why, maybe they thought it was too much of a departure from the original style.
>>742394654It's probably the same anon who made the fake Famitsu threads lol
>>742394562When will you admit that it's possible fir people to be disappointed with a nintendo product
>>742394396>>742394590>>742394625>>742394705Gonna be real with you guys, almost certain because it was too sexualized. Her butt is perky in that after all.
>>742394562>>742394654>>742394709Your samefagging is obvious, you should stop
Game unlocks for me in an hour. Very excited. Not going to let the negative people get to me. This is my first Rhythm Heaven and the demo was so much fun
The music sucks, im actually really disappointed. DS and Fever were so good.
>>742394751What happened to the early switch era where they were giving every chick a fat ass
>only get good on most of column 2 >lock in on column 3 and get medals first try everywhere>choke on colum 4 againthe fuck is going on I might need to check if it's better in handheld or if my TV has game mode turned off or something. The alien alphabet was cute.>>742394189man, i got a 5 star on chapter 1 and then barely got 3 stars on chapter 2 and 3.
>>742394848This is very much still a fun game. Most of the complaints are coming from longtime fans unhappy with the presentation side of things. You should def check out the other games after though
I hate it
>>742394848Speaking as a fan you WILL definiely enjoy it. The game oozes soul. Some of the complaints I have about the game come from a position of knowledge/experience with the Rhythm Heaven series and expectations I might've had, but also from playing other similar titles that were very creative (which were posted ITT)It's really fun. I haven't had the opportunity to try the multiplayer games yet cuz of the time, so I'm planning to give the game a try with my friends later on>>742395062I think it's on chapter 3, but you can focus on leveling up the heal first and then the wave spell when you get it to maximize efficiency against the boss
>>742394859Where are you in the game? Even from the demo alone, Disc Dog was excellent. Sneezy Moon, Wiper Bosses, Yum-Bot Simulator 2 also had great tracks
>>742394460can u upload ur save kind anon
>>742395552I'm not done with the game
>>742394662just watch the video from the main menu option and have the translated lyrics on
>>742395552Why would you want another person save anon?
I keep forgetting to press A at some parts
the art style and presentation in this game is atrocious looking compared to previous games. finna just stick to megamix
>>742393339The usual UI obstruction that extreme difficulty charts resort to.
>>742395976You can just keep your eyes closed
>>742395335>soulThis is the complete opposite of soul no matter how you put it.
i hope we somehow get some of this merch on the US nintendo store
>>742396092>onionthat's so good
>>742395883for this just keep pressing A even when you hear "spin, spin!"
>get a perfect chance on the umbrella boys as I unlock remix 4>beef it 3 timesnyo...
LET'S SIT DOWN
/v/'s new favorite developer
what killed the hype?
>>742397504Can't shitpost, I'm playing
The remixes feel uninspired somehowLocales and sceneries don't change that much
>>742390821How bad is the latency on emulators?
It's time
>>742397713why don't you buy the game on real hardware jeet
>>742397756Because I replied to the OP before scrolling down and hearing the game was out. I will buy the game now, but if I could play it early I was going to
>>742396861Don't know her deal, but I like her already because she reminds me of my favorite little singer scientist.
>>742392967I want to fuck these things
>>742397713None, compared to silver on mGBA, drasticDS for the ds game and fever on dolphinMegamix on Citra and yuzu/eden for rhythm heaven groove work really well
>>742397843it's not out
so is the detailed cooking anime lady from the first trailer actually in the game as a remix thing or they took her out completely and gave it the usual cartoony style?
>>742398025she isn't in the game at all and the game flopped>>742398154
>get a perfect on a stage>flow goes down???what the hell is flow measuring?
>>742398275>what the hell is flow measuring?your mahjong ability
>>742398383that explains why it's so low.
Hop N Slide kicked my dick in. Right after I medaled Stop N Go N Stop on my first try too
High Five 2 is so fucking exhaustingThis will be a genuine bitch to perfect
fuck hop n slide, why are it's requirements so goddamn high, if you have like more than 2 near misses then you're just fucked out of amazingfucking piece of shit
SEXOOO
>>742398234I am genuinely sad. I love the main artist but I was actually hyped with the idea of having other artists/artstyles for songs in the game.
I really like songs being in other languages than english and japanese
>>742399019I suppose.
>>742393973>>742393951Game doesn't work on OG switch
>>742399207I suppose, yeah!
>>742399242update your firmware
Well I got my 40 bucks worth already
>>742399297Its 22.5.0, ams 1.11.2, doesn't work.
One of the best remixes thus far, really enjoyed the mixups
>>742399332Playing multiplayer alone is the closest thing we'll ever get to hard mode in Rhythm Heaven and it's hilarious
>>742393832So are these like stock images in the "A" minigame?
apologize
>>742399429Do other games work? Maybe reinstall sys-patch?
Nintendo switch says its still demo yet help me
>>742399663Everything else work, installed it with DBI, not my image but is this error, only game it show that.Games have built-in date restriction?
>>742398513It's so easy to press early lol
>>742399760if everything else works then it's probably a bad/corrupted download. Games don't have date restrictions.
>>742399556Yeah, they stand out but I didn't find them that harrowing
FUCK THE WIPER MINIGAME, FUCK IT TO HELL AGH!!!
I love cute little girls!
The game is fun but you can feel the standardization of game design with the main menu UI and other things. It really feels like a switch 2 game, which is not a positive
>>742399904i got the medal first try. what's wrong with it?
>>742399827Downloaded it twice from two different upload servers, same hash on both downloads, will probably wait for another site to upload it tomorrow.MD5 Hash is 9AEEDFF4B89FDD6592AA050C28654AF9
>>742399912me too!
>>742399934the menus are basically what the GBA's menu's were though, except the main menu options have art to the sides instead of next to the option texti think it's just the standardized fonts that make it feel worse
LOL
>>742400049That looks correct. Something's wrong with your switch setup. Sorry :/
they really went all out with these
>>742400294Going to sleep now but thanks for helping anon, will try to re-install athmosphere from scratch tomorrow or try another site dump and see if its different.
>>742399995Oh nothing. I just don't have rhythm.
The first game i got during launch. Ever.
okay, got all the medals up through remix 13 (and got each one before going on to the next stage) so i guess i'll finish the rest after sleeping for the nightthis is after starting playing around 13 hours ago starting from stage 2 and taking some breaks to eat lunch/dinner and do some random chores and such
>>742400362Yeah i really loved this minigame title cards
The samurai game this time is kinda a let down with how simple it is, I prefer the Fever and Megamix onesSamurai 2 in Megamix is so kino
Crab snacks is the comfiest shitNeed more bossa nova
This family makes for an excellent wallpaperforgot to screenshot the first one
>>742398941
>>742401247yea that's the comfiest one by far
The bubble popping minigame has a very tactile satisfaction to it. Felt like some ASMR shit that would pop off on tiktok, which makes the little tv part funny
>>742401468>The bubble popping minigame has a very tactile satisfaction to ityou're not the one doing the popping
>perfect in rockers 2 but not rockers 1
the perfect timings are extremely lenient in this game, what the fuckthere's no way I suddenly became good at this, a week ago I was still struggling on tengoku
>>742401613Were you playing tengoku on an emulator?
>>742401651I remember playibg tengoku on a round 1 arcade
>>742401651Yeah, on mgba
>>742395976I wonder if that would work on Wayland. Probably not.
>>742401679Yeah that's probably why. Emulators fuck with input timing way too much. I played Tengoku on emulator first, then a real GBA, and it was like a different game the second time
>>742396394Don't worry anon, you can do it, you just gotta play it when you're not going for a perfect and then you'll nail it 8 times in a row.
>try connecting joycons separately for multiplayer>sl + sr buttons seem to be broken, can't get them to register for 2 playersI was thinking of grabbing a switch 2 anyway... even though the exclusives are all wack...
here it comes...
great art is a result of having childlike worldview and being able to experience emotional heights, something tsunku is probably incapable of anymore due to having his larynx removed, no wonder the music is so bland
>>742402025good luck anon
>>742401942The exclusives are all good, actually. The only bad games Nintendo has released since it came out, meme shit like cripple basketball aside, are Pokemon ZA and Prime 4, which are cross platform
>>742400060For me, it's cocoathis game was really funny, quite literally the last thing I would expect when the photos started piopping up, especially in a game about A
>>742402109I choked FUCK!!!
>>742402231
>>742392967>>742397891I also want to fuck these things
>>742402025>>742402231>>742402274get hacked lol
>>742401013I can already see some fucker making a TF2 reference to this minigame.
this is peak gaming, didn't expect a game where just pressing A would be this intense
>>742401829exactly. i am pretty sure i actually played it perfect the first time i got the medal. but as soon as something is on the line i choke and fail on some of the easiest notes.
Alien alphabet rocked wtf
>>742402181The photos are cute, nothing more.
piratefags couldn't help themselves by spoiling everyone and killing the hype. good job niggers
>realized only with the second iteration of Soda Hop during training that you are playing as the bottle, not the little girl it was also in the nameand I still got a medal perfectly on 1st attempt
>>742390821Backup spotlight is too hard
>>742398914Genuinely took me like 15 tries, I feel like such a rhythmlet. It wasn't even the fast part, it was always a couple of the slides in the first half that fucked me.
>>742401468yes yes yes YES
>>742395309got it first try, still nothing as difficult as the robots or the moon game
>Veggie ass was an easy perfect>Sneezing moon is filtering meI'm definitely missing something with that second one.
I wanna hug lil miss reads!
something about this one fucks me up. I've perfected every single game first try, EXCEPT for this god damn dinosaur which I've now missed perfect on twice. It killed my 1st remix run too!
Remix 16 is kino
>>742404330Yeah this game is easy to get a superb rating for, but there's always that one chomp that is just off rhythm. I don't know why.
You can sometimes see Ashley appear on the sneeze moon stage
I FUCKING HATE FROGS AND ALL ANIMALS IN THE FROG FAMILY
>>742404563your carcass is mine!
I'm having fun but so far it's really fucking easy.
>>742404721>ACK IS THIS A BUGThere it is.
Why yes I love Built To Scale, how could you tell?
>>742404721getting the medals isn't necessarily the hard part and for most stages you can probably get it in 2-3 attempts. It's the perfects that will fuck you up.>>742404850except that stage. fuck that stage.
Wish me luck anons>>742404416Mona also shows up in Remix 19
>>742404949I'm getting medals first try on most of them but I'm only on stage 3. It feels like they should be just a bit longer and throw more curveballs, maybe it will down the line.
>>742404850>>742404949didn't you hear? it's actually not a bug, but a feature.
>>742405007Picture me the ones where mona and ashley appears
>>742390821Was a huge fan of Rhythm Heaven, but when I played Rhythm Heaven Megamix, I dropped it around the tutorial since it felt like it had a story. RH Groove, is it like RH, or is it with a story like RH Megamix?
>>742394032Which game is she from?
man FUCK remix 3 cat doll/cook/crab fakeout, ruined my perfects attempt
>>742405568Yeah, megamix had way too much fluff around it you had to go through first.Groove is more like the games before in that respect. There's like zero downtime between beating a stage and jumping into the next.
I'm a construction worker and cried a little at the high five mini-game. Wagies are often not represented greatly or outright disrespected so it warmed my heart
>>742405701Thanks. I was worried I'd stop playing these games forever. It's been over 10 years and I still think about RH. $40 is a bit much, but if I ever get too much money, I'll def go for RH Groove.
>>742394947The started making shitton of miney again so they don't care anymore
Someone in the demo thread said that if you got 3 compliments at the end of a stage, you'd never get a "just ok" or "great" rating, meaning those fakeouts disappeared.Well, I just had that
>>742390821Sneezy Moon fucking rules.
>>742405958yeah, i also had one of those 3 llines but then only "really good". fuck you game.I did just get my second perfect so that makes me feel a little better.
ez
>>742397504Lack of waifus and memorable songs
Are there any anons playing this that feel like it's one of the best in the series or is it more equivalent to Wario Ware Get It Together? I liked GIT fine, but a lot of people didn't, and it felt like a lot of Switch-era Nintendo stuff where it was kind of half-assed.
The art looks kinda shit, ngl.I feel like 240p on the 3DS screen was doing a lot of heavy lifting for the 'modern' artstyle these games use. Once it's blown up to 1080p (idk if the Switch 2 goes higher) it just looks very basic and amateurish
>>742390821Not to alarm you guys, but DarksydePhil somehow made it to Remix 20.
>>742406431this is the most realistic graphics rhythm heaven ever had
>>742399483It's honestly pretty fun.
>>742406430I find this game to be not quite as excellent as Fever (a nearly impossible task anyway) but relatively on par with every other non-Megamix game in the series otherwise. I don't agree with any of the complaints levied against Groove honestly.
>>742406596early game was a bit meh but the late game content becomes kino
that's column 1 perfected
>not even out a day>people are already beating itNintendo needs to start charging half their asking price for these games holy shit.
>>742406887blame piratefags and jeets, the game hasn't been oficially out for long
>>742398513>>742398914>>742404043Holy shit I'm glad I wasn't alone on it, the first try I messed up 3 times then kept pressing it early every other attempt, then I started fucking up on parts I never messed up on.Shit was making me feel like a dumbass.
>>742406887It's a Rhythm Heaven game man. You could play every game once in one sitting if you wanted. But that's not really where the fun comes in. That comes from going for perfects. Either way, it's a rhythm game. A genre of game defined by replayability.
>>742404272The moon is a troll, you just gotta take your time and not press too early.
>>742396092those should be bundled with the game, it's the only way yiou could justify 40 USD price mark.
really great song
>>742394032Is there a story to this? Left is your pic and right is the pic from https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/rhythm-heaven-groove-switch/ . Clearly a downgrade, right?
>>742407025people cried that left and other visuals in the original reveal wasn't very rhythm heaven like so they went radio silent for a year and showed what we got now
>>742407123>people cried that left and other visuals in the original reveal wasn't very rhythm heaven likeand they were based because it's true
>>742407010This moon made me think of Dimple
>>742407025No, not a downgrade. Right looks much more in line with the visual style of the series. Not to say left looks bad, it just felt off.
I wish every remix in the game before the final sretch got the same visual treatment 5, 11 and 15 got. It was common to see the changes in earlier games
holy shit, sneezy moon 2 is a banger
Ado has a vocal song. I will now buy your game.
>>742404387can't believe how far our little chuds have gotten

>>742406430>Wario Ware Get It TogetherI thought it was decent.
Will nintendo add rhythm heaven gba to their lineup soon?
yeah fuck big can 2
>>742408280Glad I'm not alone in that. Hitting lots of them in succession feels jank with the charged inputs
>>742405958just got it on the daruma game
>>742407754I don't think I'll ever get the GiT hate. It ain't my favorite WW title but I thought the gimmick was a fun change of pace.
It's not a scratch on Rhythm Heaven Feverhttps://eye.swfchan.com/flash.asp?id=109397&n=10r.swf
Does this gaem have something where you gotta switch between beat and off-beat like Lockstep? I always sucked at that cause I'm not a nigger clapping along to cotton picking songs
It's the first rhythm heaven game where there are mini-games I'm literally playing only twice each, one for the amazing and second for the perfect
>>742405007Okay well Remix 20 isn't too hard at all, kinda disappointing, it has some tricky speed up moments here and there (like karate joe and yum bot), but those are always expected. The final part's easy to mess up, but it's not a fake out like Fever's Remix 10.Hardest final remix is still Fever's Remix 10 but here's a video of my first time doing Remix 20 so you can make fun of me for being a rhythmlet and an emufaghttps://litter.catbox.moe/rzee2ynrukxaordh.webm>>742406430Neither of those for me, I think Groove's better than Megamix, and I really like that it's all new minigames, but I find myself preferring the minigames from the other games more.Groove feels more like a Fever 2 so it's more accurate to say it's like the RH version of Move It (also I like GiT, it's fun with co-op)20 remixes is a lot, but sadly only a few of them went for changing the visuals to make a theme which's something I liked a lot about them as part of the fun. I'm not sure why the devs didn't do that this time, since they clearly had more budget to not only make 20 remixes, but the minigames overall have way more guest songs than the usual handful. One thing I really did like from Megamix was the challenge trains, and I wish there was some equivalent in Groove. The Lockstep Lockdown challenge is probably the hardest thing in the series. However, I haven't started perfecting Groove's minigames, and that's where the real difficulty lies, but for now I'd rank the RH series like this unless I change my mind later:>OverallFever > DS > Groove = Tengoku > Megamix>DifficultyDS > Tengoku > Fever > Groove > Megamix>MusicFever > DS > Tengoku > Groove = Megamix>Minigames Fever > DS > Groove > Megamix > Tengoku
>>742409143Umm what is that in one of those games?
>>742409653Yes, I just said so. Everyone knows Lockstephttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrCTHodtzb4
>>742407217>No, not a downgrade. It's a downgrade from regular skin color to tanned in my book.People, that don't properly take care of their skin when walking outside, are not remotely as attractive.
>>742390821NINTENDO RELEASE THE PHYSICAL COPY NOW, I'M NOT GOING TO PAY A RESELLER 60€

>superbs again in the flipsidebased>>742409653lockstep is fucking AIDS is what it is.You press A continuously to the beat until it switches to the offbeat and trips you up.Good luck not messing up one of those 5 billion A presses. Fuck that shit. Pretty sure if I load up my megamix save it's one of the few if not the only games i haven't perfected.
>>742409832Ignore the italian. There is no way to buy it straight from nintendo, you guys can buy it?
>>742409143Yes, this time it's a jump-rope minigame.
>>742409467>Difficulty>DS > Tengoku > Fever > Groove > MegamixNah. DS difficulty would be better if the flicking wasn't so crap. It's unreliable and Rhythm Rally 2 gives you carpal tunnel. It's crazy how much easier that game is in Megamix when you can just press a button.

How is the RPG they showed in the direct?

>>742410436so far i've only done the first 4 chapters. it's alright. not much of an actual RPG since the chapters are all self contained so whatever spell you upgrade are set back to level 1 the next. But mechanically it's pretty interesting. Even though i already mess up a lot in the heat of the fight and can't get 5 stars outside of chapter 1>>742410652bom chak
>>742392967One thing I really didn't like about bits & bops is some of the minigames just being outright copies of RH onesThe original appeal of it was being a spiritual successor to RH since we all assumed the series was dead, but I'm still not letting it fly since they had good ideas for their original ones so I dunno why they didn't just go all in
>>742410689Based schizo poster
>>742410458I've only started it, but so far I really like it. The RPG stuff is mainly just choosing risk/reward related stuff so far, like being able to choose between three spells at the start of a chapter or choosing treasure that either increases your survivability or damage. Hoping there's an endless version.

I've never tried rhythm games, which ones in this series are good? I don't have any console but I guess all the games are emulatable
>>742412401They're all good. DS might be weird to emulate because it's built around the touch screen, but I've never tried.
nooo I choked remix 20 perfect
>>742409467megamix is the only title in the series i wasn't interested on but man, is it really that bad?
I really like the remixes not cutting to black between games. And them sometimes fading into each other is pretty neat. there's gonna be a remix later that's gonna make me hate that, isn't it?
>>742390821>Game leakedbased, didn't want to give Tendo a cent after all the shit they've pulled
>>742412849Yes it's bad, every game is stuck in practice mode until the literal endgame, and the new games are shit. I strongly disagree on difficulty however, inbetween the braindead minigames you get obligatory challenges, which are absolutely nightmarish, AND you have limited lives, so you go back to the start of the floor if you fuck it up three times.
>>742412849I don't really think Groove is bad, like you saw in my ratings, I placed it tied in 3rd overall and I think that's a pretty satisfactory spot.People who have never played a RH game before will enjoy it I'm sure, but for longtime fans it plays it pretty safe so the thing we appreciate at this point are: all new minigames to keep things fresh, are the games fun enough to perfect, and is there any decent side contentI'm still happy we got a new RH at all
>>742413137me too bro, me too, especially since i dont count megamix as a new entry at all

>manage to get the perfect while Hayato is watching in Soccer Dreams 2don't underestimate the power of love
Alright im heading off later thread>>742412401I'd say start with Fever, it's usually seen as the most well-regarded one for good reason.Solid minigames, lots of charm, alright side content, and it's less difficult than GBA and DS so it's easier to get into. Can easily play on dolphin too.
Soundboard 2 in the extras is so comfy
>>742399584For what?
>>742412849I enjoy every Rhythm Heaven game but Megamix has some confusing choices. It has a LOT of padding in the form of easier versions of older Rhythm Heaven games (even ones that were tier 1 in their respective games), and then some of those games with easier versions don't even have their harder counterparts from the original games. The selection of DS games felt very lacking due to some of them being hard to adapt without a touch screen, and I think there were some notable omissions from GBA as well. Also it made Lockstep harder to perfect for some fucking reason? I'm an odd one out in thinking Lockstep is one of the easier (and more fun) games in RHDS, but they made it so near-misses count as failures when in RHDS they were hits. I used to be able to perfect it every time but the challenge minigame that played the game over and over at increasing speeds was so hard I gave up on it
I am very early in the game, i don't know how to properly explain it but hop n slide really caught me off guard, mostly with how the game presented it. I know every minigame has a bit of lore which is something I always loved since I love rhythm heaven characters but it was weird that the game went "this is X, this is their thing, hope you like it". The girl was really cute though, even though she barely has to do with the game itself.
>>742414028O O O O O O
>>742414372>due to some of them being hard to adapt without a touch screen, but the 3DS had a touchscreen?
huh, i thought it was interesting that remix 1 had just the raw japanese song without a dub of it like in fever but remix 2 is an entirely english song, I assume is the same song for the japanese version? if so, that's cool
>>742412903there's a remix where you gotta input for another game during the 7 count for disc dog
>>742414736Yeah, none of the songs are dubbed. They aren't all in Japanese or English either.

I fucking love videogames. Thank you Rhythm Heaven. I played for 16 hours straight, this didn't happen to me in years with any form of media. I think I'll regret burning myself out so quickly down the line, but the thing is, I don't feel burned out at all.Even some of the other indies mentioned ITT who are in my favorite games of all time didn't manage to capture my attention like Groove did. This series is supposed to be tough/precise right?I just beat the first column of games in Groove and I’ve only gotten “Good” on them, no fails yet but definitely no medals I could’ve sworn I did the umbrella one perfectly

>>742410694To B&B's credit, RH itself has its fair share of games that are copies of previous ones, with different visuals, SFX, and music but still fundamentally the same>micro row is just munchy monk>air rally is just spaceball>hoop trundling is just built to scale DS>there are like a dozen call and response games like shoot em up, first contact, tamborine, freeze frame, working dough, drummer duel, rhythm tweezers, etcThey're still good in spite of this comparison that can be drawn. I don't expect them to get crazy with polyrhythms to shake things up and explore spaces that haven't been done yet, most of the appeal is in the music itself anyway; having the same gameplay but being in waltz or swing would still be sufficient to be its own thing.
I've been watching a bit, is the whole game soulless globohomo shit? I miss the Japanese focus.

>>742415890This game is much more relaxed compared to previous entries. I make easily 4-5 mistakes during the more critical parts during a stage and still get a superb ranking. Make sure to count the beats in your head or by slightly tapping with your finger on something if a game gives you trouble. Longtime fans have an easier time so most posts ITT don't reflect the perceived difficulty of the game for newcomers>>742415957Even with it turned off, she will speak at times like when she's congratulating you after you reach checkpoints (beating remix 8, 12 and 16 IIRC). lots of Eric posting in here...why does the RPG say not to use the TV but it doesnt say that for the rest of the game?
I’m through 5 remixes, here are my thoughts>The games are more technically complex. A part of me likes it as it brings the series forward, but another part likes how simpler they were in the older games>Visuals are great. I love Takeuchi’s artstyle and the differing ways to make each game feel distinct, especially with the camera movements>Songs are whatever. I don’t remember them, but they aren’t bad. Maybe time just needs to set in a bit>Holy fuck I hate Hop N Slide, Sneezy Moon, and Yum-Bot. Cant get used to them at all

>>742438182Negative, it's faster and has 0 handholding , the song and the visuals change, they are telling a story, a rebel in love with a good girl. why'd no one mention the menu option that let's you listen to the songs without the gameplay videos
>>742446064because it's on the main menu for everyone to see, and sound tests have been a thing for decades
should've made that mid game credits a playable game too.
>>742445821when did your TV come out? I believe my monitor is straight, but my copy of the game hasn't come yet
>>742446249it is
>>742397756CFWchad here, I'd rather kill myself than to ever buy a shitch gameNow, how's the input delay on emulator?
>>742397678Why'd you say "somehow" and then state the exact reason anyway?
quick question, but how come TV latency wasn't an issue on Fever? Not to mention that one also had a bluetooth controller too...
Fuck you, Miho. Your game is shit.
>>742436907It always just annoyed me. Let me get to the games without a long-ass scripted cutscene first. Also if I wanted to take a test I'd just.. take a test, instead of playing a video game
>>742446282Bought it new in 2023.
What’s your>least deserved medalSo far it’s Hop, Stop N Roll for me. Those cats were buggin, but still got it
>>742446535TV Latency is only an issue on HDMI, which the Wii didn't support. Try playing Fever on a WiiU and you will immediately notice how off it is. People don't want to admit it but HD displays are arguably what killed people's pleasure in playing fighters and rhythm games. Even if you can adjust latency you can't be so precise as to tune it perfectly and the visuals will suffer in every case. This is why I am playing this game exclusively in handheld mode.
>>742446714when did it come out as gay?
>>742446331during the actual one would have been nice though.
>>742446737Wiper Bosses, Synchro Wings, Germ Aerobics, Remix 9 & Remix 18
>>742446998It kept showing me ads of gay porn websites. (moral: never buy smart tvs)
>>742447010Can you get a medal on this ?
>>742394032>>742394095why lie?
Best song is by far Alien AlphabetI like Sneezy Moon 2 aswell but Alien Alphabet is the only song that's stuck in my head
>>742447173dude lmao
>>742447010Isn't that how it worked in the DS credits game too?
>>742446535Smart TVs do a bunch of postprocessing BS that takes forever and desyncs a/v by default, and a lot of people get used to it until someone points it out
>>742447282a/v and your inputs*
>>742446535I wish the latency test actually showed the timings of the input presses, so I can see how accurate the inputs actually are.Either as numerical value in ms or do the thing lots of other rhythm games do where you see the green box and a line showing where your input was
Alien Alphabet is rhythmkino
Tsunku's frog self insert is doing well for himselfI believe this is the only song he's sung in the series.
yum-bot is so fucking boring.
>>742447874Congrats to Yum Bot for having the first cues in a Rhythm Heaven game to actively annoy me.
>>742447959it feels like you should have to hold down on the dpad but you just tap it's so weird
is there a monkey minigame? those are always my favorites.
Games great, you guys are just fucking morons
>>742448229nope not this time
>>742447629I thought he lost his voice
>>742448357frog hop was from before that
>>742414534They explicitly didn't use it beyond a simple tapping mode. A lot of songs in RHDS used flicking or something more unique (e.g. Love Lizards, Rockers) and those were either changed to tapping/holding or the games weren't adapted at all.
HOW IS THE RPG MODE?
>>742448996Pretty fun. It incentivizes hitting the notes percisely on beat kinda like Megamix's challenges.
>>742449091Nice gonna get the game next week
>>742409143>I always sucked at that>cause [inane excuse]Yeah, you suck indeed.
>>742448996It's really good, I just wish it was a bit longer. The story feels sort of like a tutorial that adds more and more stuff to learn, but you don't get to try everything until you unlock the random dungeon mode. An endless mode would have been nice.
>>742448996I like it so far. I don't know why they made it seem shorter than it actually was
>>742439334On the perfect border, Hearts on the left side show the tries at that minigame, the tally marks on the right show how many plays in other games before it dissapears
>>742448996Surprisingly really good
>>742446249Cute!
>>742443739That’s just what the franchise does, anon.
>>742445164If i were me i would add that to the list
I want to fuck these cars.
