>>742431504>>742431517I genuinely don't get the hate for the first game. It's a bit jank but it was fun jank. You even lean into it on the Obsidian Shell runs. The Virtuous Cycle runs in particular are fun to learn the enemy placement and how to break the game in two.

The demo was absolutely abhorrent.The level design is still complete dogshit, exactly like it was in the first game. The intro is a linear corridor with a pointless dead end that's just an even smaller corridor with a poison swamp. The open-world segment is an ultra-pathetic parody of ER, they even threw in mini-dungeons made out of like three and a half assets. The swamp with the wheelchair lady is just pure lazy garbage in particular, i don't think i ever saw levels this bad outside of amateur mods.The combat got a little better, but your character magnetically snaps to enemies even without lock-on, and you get launched a kilometer forward with every single swing. It's the exact same problem LOTF2023 had. Enemies magnetize to your character too, so natural spacing just doesn't work. On top of that, the game is ridiculously easy.There's also a massive amount of bugs. Inputs stop working in the menus, the camera flies right up your ass, enemies stop reacting, and the color palette is sometimes so dark you can't see shit. This isn't a beta, it's some early alpha build.The only thing I actually liked was how the resource system works, but at its core, it's basically just a clunkier, more awkward rip-off of the Spirit system from Wo Long and Synchronization from AI Limit.Also, what the FUCK is this color palette? It's literally 50 shades of gray in all directions, except the one getting butt fucked is you, the player.
