I thought the game sucked. turns out, it was just because the engine was broken as shit. now it and G2 Classic are some of my fav action RPGs. I need to give G3 another try in first person mode. Melee is dreadful in third person.

Chapter 1 and 2 is largely about avoiding any melee combat. Do all quests in X camp, get escorted to the next, do all quests there, repeat for 3rd camp. Laugh in German as you avoid all critters, lockpick everything, get the bestiary books 1-4, buy the trophy skills and THEN use the escorts.But for the first run, best to bobr kurwa on the safe side. If you cannot stomach the lockpicking minigame, there's full combo lists online.

>>742458249It's lower priority over stuff like combat skills, climbing/diving, and stats, but if you explore a lot in chapter 1 you'll probably get some usage out of it. I'll just say while you can find better stuff than what you can craft you might find yourself in a position where a nice upgrade for you now is held by some random npc, in some cave, or can be crafted with a recipe sitting in your inventory. I would say it's worth it in that situation. You're not too strapped for LP in this game as long as you don't spread between the main damage stats of streength and dexterity and their weapon skills.
