Everyone wants a disc drive but no one wants to subsidize it. How would you feel about a $1000 PS6? I don't even need to ask that question because everyone shat on the Steam Machine for being the same price, despite a PS6 needing every bit of economical leeway it can take, given that it costs about that much to make.

But now, attach that to a console which is already pushing $1000. No one is going to be buying a physical PS6, even if Sony kept discs.

i was fine with spending $3k on a PC and panel because i do many things with it, not just vidya. a Playstation plays games and streams locked down content. no fucking way I would ever spend more than $500 on a gaming console.
