Literally the worst thing to happen to gamingThe SNES specialised in casual games designed for toddlers, story game "JRPG's" that have little to no actual gameplay depth, and Mahjongg and horse racing games for elders. Action games, forget it, it's 2.68 mhz CPU slows to a screeching halt simply moving a handful of sprites around, which many casual gamers praise for making "more accessible". The real "core gamers" were playing the far more powerful Mega Drive, PC Engine, Amiga, X68000, or Neo Geo. And that's not even getting into how it pioneered two of the most draconian forms of DRM - disposable streamed games and paid online, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellaview https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XBAND
I never had a snes. I only had the Megadrive in that gen. I'm in Europe btw dunno if that matters.

Megadrive games were pretty much all very short and arcade like. You could finish most of the popular Megadrive games in like 1 hour each. SNES games had more substance.
