Why did Lollipop Chainsaw fail (twice) to be part of the sexy action genre icons like Bayonetta or Stellar Blade?
>>
>>742782371
I bought it and played it for like 3 hours and I'll tell you why. It's fucking boring.
>>
>>742782371
Because despite what retarded anti censorship porn addicts want you to believe, they don't buy games. Stellar Blade and Nier Automata had good stories, gameplay and clothing options. Lolipop Chainsaw is just something browns would jerk off to with nothing else to offer.
>>
because the game is shit. theres no reason to play these dogshit games when you can just jerk it to a webm and move on
>>
>>742782697
>and clothing options
Lollipop does have clothing options
>>742782371
Look anon l only played the og version on xbox 360, and that game is extremely short and has terrible camera angles sometimes, and the most important the game didn't had an arcade mode where you can just kill endless zombies, so there was nothing to do after beating the game, l don't know if they fixed it in repop
>>742782880
Couldn't we say the same about gacha games?
>>
>>742783075
>Couldn't we say the same about gacha games?
yes we could. i genuinely fail to see a reason to actually play this shit. just looking up porn of the characters is all you need to do. genuinely baffling that people play this shit
>>
>>742782371
it's not a very good action game
still fun though
>>
>>742783442
I always recommend koikatsu in gacha threads, l really don't get why they play a gambling game just because of the fanservice
>>
>>742782371
She's too generic. A cheerleader in high school? Come on
>>
>>742782371
her gameplay is shit and there are better action games with chainsaw-wielding girls
>>
>>742783786
>gambling
answered your own question anon
gambling exploits flaws in the human psyche to generate addiction.
>>
>>742782371
It was bad at release as well. Zero depth to the combat and it wasnt even framed as a fanservice game at launch. It was going for "BUT UR A GIRL?"
>>
>>742783931
could never concentrate on the game I was too distracted by her legs
>>
>>742783786
That's what gacha antis don't understand about the games. Fanservice is on top of the game you already enjoy. It makes normalfags seethe out of their mind when people actually enjoy the gameplay, story, or grind behind games like Uma, GFL, any hoyo game and png 4niggas in a row combat games. They don't require your full attention and are good for something to do/read on the side. 99.9% of people aren't play gacha games to jerk off, so koikatsu is a pointless recommendation.
>>
>>742784104
Funny because l never suffered from it
>>742784484
>99.9% of people aren't play gacha games to jerk off, so koikatsu is a pointless recommendation.
Citation needed here, because gacha threads here go full on fanservice, but never on other aspects of the game, also
>They don't require your full attention
Which is strange since you have to do dailies and use the gambling mechanic even if you don't put money in there necessarily
>>
Barely legal characters will creep out many.
>>
>>742782371
Game was all style and no substance.
Even NMH with its shitty gameplay was doung some interesting shit with its story, themes, and dumb ass minigames. Lolipop... didn't really have anything beyond a cool vibe.
>>
>>742784835
>threads here
Are made by porn addicts who don't play the games. Any gacha that gains traction via discussions gets pruned and banned with a message about generals going on /vg/ which if you go to, you'll see all gacha games are filled with discussions on story, events, meta/competitive set ups, how to male xyz work, new players asking for info, with fan service being sidelined or just used as an attention catch for a post. /v/ is simply not a discussion board, It's a soft porn board.
>dailies etc
Dailies are usually a brain off thing. I could click through menus blindly on certain game dailies at this point. The gambling has become more and more optional as the years go on. Most to all content can be done f2p and the most popular games are selling you based on design rather than powercreep. The bulk majority of gacha spenders are anni only, meaning they spend 30-60$ a year(price of a game or a bunch of older decent games on sale) on anniversary gems/tickets. Any more than that is maybe the $5 a month subscription gem cards. Gacha misinfo and hate on this website are so overblown it's actually unreal, considering the average intelligence should be at least enough to research things on your own

I always thought lollipop chainsaw was a cult classic? Kind of like deadly premonition or killer 7 or some shit.
>>
>>742782371

>>

>>
>>742782371
It didnt interest me because i knew the sexiest part was just the cover.

Compare it to blades of time.
>>
>>742784835
I played fgo up until 2024 because I used to read fate stuff on fanfiction.net (still do, actually). And started counterside because it looked similar gameplay-wise to the epic war flash games (it's not) - but I stayed around for a few years because of my guild leader and members. Love him, but god damn, he was sensitive. Eventually he just up and left, and so did I.
>>
the game isn't iconic because its characters and story are one-dimensional and it leans much harder into humor and pop culture references than ghm's other games. it definitely has james gunn's touch for better or worse.
if it was a better GAME it might have been a little more popular. it's clunkier and more meticulous than no more heroes and killer is dead. but it doesn't really matter how much impact it left because both the original and the shitty remaster sold well enough to be commercial successes.
>>
Same reason why onechambara didn't.
>>
If the fanservice peaks at the cover art its a bad fanservice game.
>>
>>742782371

>>
too janky? idk really
>>
>>742782371
It's a pretty mediocre action game and Juliet is kinda meh
She's not ugly or anything, just not very interesting as a design and dressing her up in sluttier outfits doesn't help much
Bayo had good mechanics in Bayo 1 that elevated it despite Kamiya's best efforts at killing it with his faggy arcade autism
Stellar Blade had ShitUp's high production values and absurdly detailed models along with mechanics that are "fine enough" to keep people playing while staring at Eve's ass
Plus both Bayo and Eve just have more interesting and memorable designs than "blond cheerleader with pigtails"
The sludgy American grindcringe writing is also just not very appealing to anyone besides Gen Xers and some boomers
>>
>>742782371
does this shit looks sexy enough to you? it looks like someone's middle aged mom trying to be 'sexy' and 'seduce the nerds'
>>
>>742785938
Ok, so gacha games don't hold itself only for fanservice, that's a good info, but if the game doesn't hold itself for fanservice, what hold it?
After all what a gacha games can offer than a standalone game can't?

It's not as deep mechanically to be part of the cuhrayzee crowd, let alone comparable to Bayonetta.
It didn't have the budget or controversy that made Stellar Blade stand out
The most notable thing about it was some cosplay.
>>
>>742791050
Why not try it then? Drop it if you don't like it. As long as you don't have a gambling problem.

>have 6 more hours of the same thing but now without the initial excitement.

I beat the PS3 version way back when it launched, and it was 2 hours of really cool unique ideas that then get reused with minor changes for the remaining 8 hours.

Not enough support for Manyuu Hikenchou cosplay.

It's mechanically very shallow. Bayonetta and Stellar Blade (and Nier) have a lot going on besides the gooning aspects.

I did like the vibe of the game though, very cheesy and pulpy. Forgot how much I missed that kind of straightforward humor. I only played it last year and had a good time.

Absolutely. Story is fairly simple but decent, gameplay is super fun, if you don't mind a lot of focus on parrying and perfect dodges, and the sound and music are incredible. The art direction is also surprisingly solid; a lot of people recognized Stellar Blade 2 from the first few seconds before the character was shown just based on the style of music and the design of the city.

There is this odd kind of melancholy that the game constantly communicates that's a little hard to quantify. It's not like Nier where the melodrama is heightened and it's very character focused, but the world feels broken in a way that I think is conveyed really well.
>>
>>742798268
It's good fun. It got a bit of growing pains in the beginning though, but think of gameplay as Nier for level navigation, and Sekiro for hard on combat.
the game gives you a fuck ton of tools to use though.
>>
Honestly, the game was kind of bad. I say this as a day-one purchaser on both 360 and PC. It was fun in a campy way but when I think about the tractor section, the arcade stuff etc I don't want to replay it like I do SB (which I have played 4 times) or Automata which I have played 3 times.

Gacha gameplay is rarely any good. Mostly they thrive off of leading you around with the carrot that is the gambling. Otherwise it's just an inordinate amount of time wasted doing some manner of mindless daily/weekly/monthly grind. The story is never good either.
Kinda like how Duet Night Abyss's gimmick was that it's a gacha game without the gacha, and it got tossed immediately.
Probably the only ones I liked the gameplay of were Uma and Arknights (not Endfield that was trash). I do hope AK releases an offline version when it goes EoS

>>742782371
>Why did Bayonetta succeed (once) and fail (twice) to be part of the sexy action genre icons like Tomb Raider or Nier: Automata?
You need to be a good game.

Lollipop Chainsaw is a basic hack-and-slash with the sole novelty of playing as a sexy teenage girl in a gritty setting. Suda51 is known for his theme of "Kill the Past", but here it was only shown by the boyfriend needing to get over losing his body (Juliet loves him regardless) and the theatre/goth kid needing to get over his lack of relationships in high school. I could add the villains too, trying to accomplish what they could not when alive, but everyone and their mother has done that trope to death.
>>
Suda51 can not make a game that's fun to play
>>
>>742798268
It's okay. It has a lot of section where it removes control from you because it's trying to be too cinematic, or has you run around empty stretches of land and the story is rather bad and predictable too.

True-blue idiots and slopeheads fall back on this because they have no argument or explaination. Over 90% of gacha players spend zero dollars and zero cents on these games. It's not a good game that's why. It's somewhere between shovelware and normal in gameplay. You can tell that just by looking at it, very western, main character is generic af, western devs can't do good action gameplay for shit.

Also it's not particularly sexy because all the jokey (haha look how sexy I am), try-hard aspect puts people off rather more than appeal. It's like they're openly mocking you for being a sucker for the hetero male-gaze.

>Or stellar blade
You mean a coomer game that flopped so hard it halved the stocks of their own company?
>>
>>742782371
the tramp stamp is a dead givaway

lolipop chainsaw leans into a stripper aesthetic popular with old, dusty harley davidson riders and people who go to hooters

bayo and stellar are a less boomerish kind of look. eve wouldn't work at a strip club, getting naked for sailors going on deployment. she would have an OF

why are we groomed like this
>>
>>742782697
>Because despite what retarded anti censorship porn addicts want you to believe, they don't buy games
Leftism really is mental illness. You just took what is said about pro-censorship people, that they provably don't actually buy games, and threw it back at anti-censorship people in a "no u" fashion. Your mental illness is actually evil. You cannot be trusted in sociey. Pathological liars and manipulators are the most dangerous type of people, because they don't play fair. You're the type to be provided and cared for, then kill everyone in their sleep simply because the opportunity was there to steal from them.

>not a good answer
More like not the answer you expected.
>playing people like a fucking fiddle is why
This is still a far cry from your original point that is
>>742803841
>repop specifically attempted to sell itself on the "uncensored" anti-woke pandering angle
Just admit that you were full of shit.
>>
>>742815350
it's all a psy-op from Big Pedo to make you attracted to women over the age of majority and keep all the underages for themselves there are /r9k/ posters that actually believe this
>>

Well, we aren't talking about me, we're talking about the general gaming world. Whether I was excited or not doesn't really matter, I'm just one person.
>>

The price halved because investors wanted more gacha instead of another console game.

>she would have an OF
Normally I'd call you out for ending a sentence with a preposition but clearly you accidentally hit "post" mid-sentence. She would have an of what, anon? An of what?
>>
>>742790009
Why doesn't Suda just outsource for someone to handle gameplay?

>Stellar Blade

only fans, dawg

juliet would be a stripper, eve would have an OF. they're doing basically the same thing, but differently. this was the subtle different between the two types of characters i was attempting to highlight. they are a very similar type of character designed for two very different audiences
>>
>>742782697
>Stellar Blade
>good story
Shiggy diggy doo.
>>
>>742782371
I love how no one mentions this shit was written by James Gunn. The sequel will be better.
>>
>>742816548
>she would have an of only fans, dawg
I see.
>>
>>742812889
Couldn't you fix that with mods for repop?
>>
>>742782371
The answer is always marketing. Everything else is secondary.
>>
>>742817840
I knew it but it wasn't worth mentioning. What the fugs the sequal?
