I played through aborted ch4 weird just so I could do the ch5 festival and confirm that you do not get this dialog if you ride the Ferris wheel with Noelle. It appears to be completely unused. If you vote Kris and Noelle and then ride you get the same dialogue as usual about the festival several years ago.Honestly I think it's kinda annoying that they manage to leave stuff like this in the game assets.This is an interesting scene that strongly suggests the thorn ring is not inherently influencing her mind in ch5 side B, because it turns out she does wish the dream was true, that she'd killed Berdly, that she is able to wield that incredible power. And we're left with this as just some "dubiously canon" shit. What was the point of not putting it in if you wrote it up and added it to the files?

Battles feel more like puzzles as a result, though you can always just brute force it by actually fighting.Overworld exploration is linear but also has puzzles which aren't necessarily complex but are satisfying to resolve because usually the reward will be a chuckle-worthy gag. I think what toby does best is creating a very simple game but making it feel much grander with presentation alone, and that makes simple gameplay much more gripping.
