Why doesn't anyone want a Chinese GPU?
>>
they bad

even worse than AMD trash

Probably because games are not optimized for it, amd is the second most popular gpu manufacturer and theres still hiccups

Same reason no country wants to buy their military tech, even though shills keep telling us China is ahead of the US armed forces.

This is why Intel got laughed at with their shitty israeli backdoored GPUs

>>
>>742935521
It's not even that, they just don't really put much effort into a good software stack.
I'm running a huananzhi h12d-8d motherboard, and while there are multiple fan headers, none of them can be controlled via software. In the bios, you can only set two of the fan headers (one for cpu, and another for ambient mb, and it's not even a fan curve; all you can do is set the slope). In linux you don't have *any* temperature sensors from the motherboard.

There's no QVL neither. Want to know what kind of RAM this board supports? Fuck you.

Maybe is the resolution itself. the CPU is bottlenecking the GPU at that resolution, but even then, you should hit 90FPS at minimum.

China is bad for a multitude of reasons that you choose to ignore because you're mad about certain aspects of America.
>Because they do not give two shits about IP theft or patents they'll just take something that works, rip it off, and produce it at such low margins that the original person or company that created it cannot compete against the knockoffs.
>If you want to do business in their country you cannot open your own business in it and just pay the country some fee like every other country on the planet, you literally have to give up trade secrets and a significant portion of your company over to either the government or a Chinese company itself.
>Straight up lies about their GDP and actual economy health which is why no one seriously invests in their stock market.
>Pretty much the only innovations to come out of the country at all in the past 50 years are solar and battery technologies while everything else they produce are all over the place in quality or just outright stolen from western markets but made worse. Or they just straight up heavily monitor you.
>Constantly bitches about being unable to sell certain products in western markets yet can't grasp the fact that their wages are so low that it is impossible for any western country to compete with once they become flooded with their products.
Case and point, their EVs are destroying the native EU car market because no one can compete with those prices. Even Japan is being hit by this.
>China is willingly supplying ammunition to both the Ukrainian and Russian war efforts just to make the most money possible even though it literally signed a memorandum stating they would personally defend Ukraine from Russia due to them giving up their nukes.

Just because the country itself is beautiful and the average person there is a good person like everywhere else on the planet doesn't mean you can pretend like China isn't some mess of a country because you have grievances against America.

>>
>>742934270

>>
>>742944186
>And this is bad because?
Because it completely disincentivizes new products coming to market as the whole reason people bother innovating is to gain money from their product and become successful. Even within China they're extremely protective of their battery innovations. When anyone can just make something you are the first to figure out, flood the market with it, and reap the rewards why even try?

You can dislike how Disney completely massacred the copyright system, but that's an abuse of power and corruption at the legal level. As a concept it is completely fair and should reward people for creating something that finds success. Life of the creator is completely reasonable as them and their generation after will be set, but after that it's on them to diversify their portfolio or invest properly instead of resting on their laurels.

A Chinese GPU will never happen.
>it won't be cheaper
Flagship chink phones are about the same price as a flagship iPhone at the same specs. Chinkware being cheaper is a mirage. For example, you can find budget Chinese earbuds that punch way above their price, but it's still not comparable to AirPods. And when you do look at Chinese options that are comparable to AirPods, it's the same price.
>the consumer GPU market is not lucrative
That's the fact of it. You may never acknowledge it, but Jensen Huang is keenly aware of the struggles in the consumer tech space and he's kept GPU prices as low as he possible can. MSRP hasn't really changed over the last 10 years. He hasn't been jewing you. You should be more thankful that he's dictating GPU prices and keeping it suppressed. And then there's all the aftermarket care and service in terms of drivers and shit. That all adds up. The Chinese would rather just make good CPU coolers or other self-contained gadgets and accessories, sell it to you and forget you ever exist after.
>optimization
Good luck getting developers to optimize for your GPU. Why would I waste my money on taking that gamble?

Yeah, because it was tit-for-tat paired with the fact that they refused to disclose what data was actually being sent back to China. >This is a good thing
No, it really isn't. Domestic brands that are forced to be created are nearly always terrible and worse than the alternative, just look at Russia doing exactly that recently because Putin wants control over the censorship. Even if you want to ignore the quality problem it consolidates power towards one specific point a government can control with whatever superfluous laws they want which further promotes countries getting more autocratic or draconian.

Domestic solutions for things like government institutions, bank security, and stuff like the power grid makes sense and that's fine. It's when you spread out from it that it's a horrible idea.

That's why there is a continued concern that China has permanently outstripped the US in tech, as the Rafael was considered second only to the F-36.

Without a radical advancement in battery tech electric cars will lose popularity in the middle and low end markets once we start hitting end of life on the majority of the vehicles currently on the market.

ICE vehicles can be maintained for decades with minimal effort until the car itself falls apart. Individual components can be replaced as needed to keep the vehicle operational. Electric vehicles on the other hand are limited by the life of their battery system. Replacing the batteries is more expensive than a vehicle of that age would be worth, meaning the vehicle has a hard end of life point.

AMD's biggest problem is they think they can charge the same as Nvidia for products that aren't as competitive.
If they priced things based on how they actually perform then they could take significant market share, but they're always like $100 more expensive than they should be at MSRP (even before the crypto and AI booms)

>ICE vehicles can be maintained for decades with minimal effort until the car itself falls apart.
The common market doesn't do that, they run their shit ragged until it falls apart then get something new, or just until they're bored and want a newer toy. Never mind how newer cars have been actively trying to limit how/how much people can work on their own vehicles in all of kinds of scummy ways. The assumption that most car-owners are amateur mechanics driving decades-old vehicles is some kind of pipe dream idealism.
>>
Plenty of people want a LiSuan 7G100 , it's just very difficult and expensive to get one. They aren't sold to Americans, so you'd have to use a shipping agent to forward it to you, but idek if shipping agents support JD purchases yet. At the end of the day, it would be too expensive for the performance it offers.

Yes and that point is only half as long for electric cars. The batteries wear out before everything else.
>>742949106
>ICE cars are full of overpriced electronic garbage that's all linked together now so one minor fault means you have to spend thousands just to fix it
So are electric cars, but worse, because they have the same current design language plus the problems that only an electric car can have such as batteries being drained to maintain idle temperature. ICE cars don't have fuel tanks that drain themselves when it is cold like electric ones do.
>>
>>742948952

>Is it really that hard to believe China can do something right?
Generally, yes. There's very little they do right as a country without massive oversight by foreign countries and it's usually built on the backs of everyone else's work. The few things they can do good are controllers, cheap mice, cheap keyboards, and their gachas which are typically actual games instead of games that play themselves. Wukong was visually incredible but as a game it did nothing that special and was clearly astroturfed by the Chinese pushing it as some marvel of gaming when it was just average.

98% of their games are usually made for their own domestic market and exist to funnel money from bank accounts in perpetuity while being as cheap to make as possible, not to actually be fun. Many of their games also show that their developers do not understand even the basics of video gaming conventions or not making a game feel jank so actually praising a game from them is usually impossible since there's so little to even praise. Not to mention half of the games attributed to them are Taiwanese aka not even China. For every Eastward or Black Myth Wukong there's like 15,000 browser games, Journey to the West games, Romance of the Three Kingdoms games, or other shovelware that they release every few days that no one wants or will have fun with outside of their domestic market.

People don't understand how difficult and complicated making graphics cards is. There are hundreds of failure points and even a little bit of corruption (China) or incompetence (America) leads to insane differences in yield and quality.
China is doing 20% yield. Taiwan is at 80%. This means Chinese have to use 4 times as many resources and time to get the same amount Taiwanese get which also means the price will also not be effective either.
