Even the simple scene transition when you take the warp to the next zone in conflux/hollow void has more effort put into it in ZZZ. My tip once you reach Chaos difficulty is to use a 150 Defender weapon, slap on some Autorevive/Guts/Potion Hoarder and just learn the fights. Once you transcend your defender to level 1 slap on a Greater Aegis and you'll have close to 200k HP. Minmaxing damage comes later

The rogue-lite pick-from-three portals suits the way most missions are structured better than the quest counter. Quest counters works in MonHun and PSO because every mission and investigation is an expedition that could last more than 10 minutes in a map with multiple zones that is larger than the town you're loading in from. Most Relink missions are small arenas, and they're cleared pretty quickly outside of the endgame bosses, so you end up spending more time hitting menu confirmations before and after clearing the mission than playing the game. I just think it's pretty fun to have like 10 of these arenas strung together without all the bullshit in between, it's still annoying that new players have to go through the checklist of clearing maniac and proud difficulty missions one by one when it's clearly possible that you could play through the entire playlist without returning to town at all.

If you don't have any particular ideas who to pick for AI, Cag, Yodarha and Siegfried all bring a ton of survivability to the table for the party
