Mushihimesama Futari Black Label God Mode and Devil Blade Reboot

Forever hurting but good enough, I can't remember the last time my hands didn't feel at least mildly inflamed
>>
>>743195702
>What game did you play this week?
Shenmue, Dragon Quest VII, and Donkey Kong 64
>How's your back and wrists
Both fine but I get pain in my right thumb sometimes. Both the joint and the fingertip.
>>
Played nothing this week, because I’m in awkward position of leaving for a trip tomorrow and having a multi-week pause with any game makes it really hard to come back to them. But once I’m back, it’s either Morrowind with Tamriel Rebuilt, Final Fantasy X or Xenoblade Chronicles Switch 2 edition.

Like shit. Yesterday, had a nerve pain going from my left wrist to my neck, gums, eye and sides of my head, today my right leg and groin feel tense as fuck and hurt.

My back starts hurting if I spend too much time in this shitty chair, I need a better one. My wrists hurt sometimes, and I'm sure one day everything will come crashing down and I'll have full on carpel tunnel.

WipeOut Pulse, Enclave, Cyberpunk 2077, Ace Combat 7, Menace, Peripeteia, Transience, Ultima VI, Bloodstain Ritual of the Night, Gungriffon
>How's your back and wrists?
Back and wrist are great, it's the joints that are fucked. Lots of popping and clicking. I'm going to do cardio tonight for 20 minutes. That's it. I really want to get to the point where I can skateboard again. I don't think I'll be hitting stair rails and stuff like in my 20's but I could at least carve around.

Fine but my knees crack and pop and my feet hurt like a bitch on occasion and I've bought better shoes and it helped the first time but now even with the new shoes I still take diclofenac pills once a day until the pain goes away. Still though the first time this happened I couldn't walk for a month, did an MRI and they found nothing. Im also not obese so I dont know. I guess my size 47 feet are too long for their own good

playing mostly Fatal Fury City of wolves. It is impossible to get good at this game on a pad. Might have to buy an arcade stick / hitbox eventually.
My back is not that good but my wrists are fine after I purchased a vertical mouse. It is no miracle maker but it helps.
Might visit the doctor soon. Friend of mine almost died this week due to an infection and it reminded me of my mortality. I am not that well mentally since I'll be laid off next month and couldn't even get a single fucking interview so far.

Been jumping between the Gothic 1 Remake and Pokemon: Polished Crystal. I can feel my will fading between them both and It's been harder and harder to motivate myself into continuing them. Gothic because it started getting really easy as you progress in the story, and a lot of it is just running between camps. Call me a retard or zoomer or whatever but I honestly wish there was fast travel because I don't even fight anything anymore I just run past it. Polished crystal has the opposite problem where I feel like I'm being forced to grind in it. I haven't played pokemon in like 10 years but this mod was recommended to me, and I'm struggling because I don't know a lot about the more in-depth mechanics for pokemon. Also somehow I'm very underleveled against gym leaders even though I've beaten almost every trainer I've come across so far. Just beat morty and I got folded by the fighting-type gym leader.
>How's your back and wrists
Wrists are fine but my shoulder has been fucked up since I was a teenager due to a car crash.

Was trying to 100% Star Fox 2026,but got kinda distracted by the steam summer sale. Now I'm jumping between Nier Replicant, Pal World and Stranger of Paradise.

Get involved with your community. Use the opportunities to make new friends and obtain personal fulfillment. Find activities you enjoy that aren't related to the internet. If you have to moderate your own web usage with parents controls, do it.

Here's my sage wisdom: You know that thing you keep telling yourself you'll do and then you never do it?
JUST FUCKING DO IT. The only thing holding you back is yourself, your fear of the commitment or the fear of loss, or the fear of failure.
JUST FUCKING DO IT. Loss and failure are stepping stones to success.

If you're looking for serious advice on here, then it's already too late...
Best thing to do is to keep working on yourself and learn to be able to take failures on the chin and keep moving forward with life.

was trying outer wilds. now after 8 hours I'm giving up on the game.

being able to fly around in a star system with my own space ship was kinda cool, but the novelty has worn off by now.

the big "mystery" of the game is the time loop. after some time of exploring the star system, the star goes hypernova and you die. then you wake up on the starting planet near your space ship, and you continue exploring until the star goes hypernova yet again.

the whole game world is almost devoid of any life, and the story is told through a million little messages left behind by some kind of aliens who were present on the planets a thousand years before your character was born. also, it's not a linear story: there are many different "story fragments" that you obtain in an order that depends on what locations you visit first.

whenever you die and restart, you keep the information obtained from these messages you read. it's stored in your space ship's computer log. this information is basically the only kind of game progress that exist, since I haven't obtained any new gear thus far in the 8 hours I played. I think there's upgrades that let you deal with spiked cactuses and poisonous mushrooms that block certain paths, but it seems that's all the game has in store.

the hypernova mechanic kinda wastes your time, since if it happens when you're in the middle of something, you have to spend some time flying/walking back to the place you were, before you can continue.

I realized I don't care at all about the story and that the game has absolutely nothing else going for it once the space flight novelty wears off, so I'm done.
>>
I've been playing these. I stay up at night(rn it's 2:09am) and sleep mostly during the day, life's good.

You are not getting out of here. There is no magical ”adult” switch that will click on in your head (unlike what young people often think), and if 4chan is your time-waster now, it likely will be it later on too.

Also, bury all the ideas that being 30+ is far away and completely different from your life now. Somewhat different yes, but it is closer than you think and if you delay things you want to do while you’re young, soon you will realize that you’re not young anymore.

That is also why I find it so hilarious when I see young shitters thinking about ”who cares if my lifestyle is unsustainable when I’m 30, I’m gonna kill myself before that anyways” or something similar. Oh no, you will reach that age sooner than you think, and if you try to imagine that it’s some far-away future you won’t have to face any time soon, you’re just fooling yourself. 5 years, 10 years, they’re basically nothing.

your 30s are built by the habits of your 20s. If you are still here, its very likely that you will remain here in the future, not because 4chan has a magical grip, but because you made it an habit and the longer you wait to break it, the harder it will be.
And also, unlike other anons that posted here, by your 30s something inside you will flip. And why? Because at that point you are old and EVERYONE will remind you of that, including your own body. If you have a goal or something in mind that you keep postponing, you better do it now. Life is unkind for the eternal bystander, like those suckers who never bought PC parts before the AI boom because they just waited and waited for the prices to come down.

Yes, you can play XIV without a credit card, i myself do so.

First, you can download the Free Trial and play for free for unlimited time, you will have some limitations and will not be able to access the newest expansions, but you can easily get 100+ hours of the Free Trial.

Eventually you can use steam wallet to pay the sub and buying the game

Not him, but GTA IV looks like shit, runs like shit, and is really annoying to play. However, in spite of all of that, it's a deeply soulful game filled with pointless, extraneous detail, and it's also really funny. I remember my mum watching my older brother play it when it came out, and she'd sit down while doing paperwork to watch the cutscenes and would laugh a lot at the dialogue and situations. It was the only video game she cared about because it was "like a good TV show".

I play ARPG with mainly minon based builds. The latest I'm doing now is a companion based wolf summoning spirit walker in poe2.
Yes the game practically plays itself but I have the manage all the rest of everything to get it to that point which is where I find the fun. I guess that's how it goes when you're 30+ anyone else know this feel?

Doom TDA DLC (breety grood, can easily break 2000ups with the new movement techs), Iron Meat co-op with my wife, finally got Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy (steam sale) and loving it, also enjoyed a bit of Cursemark but thinking I'll wait for another update before I play more.

Wrists are perfect thanks to switching to low DPI, ultralight fingertip mouse with sapphire skates and a large cordura mousepad. Back is great too thanks to my posture and optimal monitor height.

I'm always going back and forth with XIV. I keep telling myself, there are better, more original, more satisfying games to play. But I still keep coming back to it because one, it's an mmo and even though there really isn't that much connection between me and the other people who play it, I still feel the need to be at least around them. And second it's not great or that much fun but it's honestly the last mmorpg that is worthpanting at all so once it dies that entire experience will never be available again so I might as well stick to it.

I tried figuring out forever how to make RTX HDR work on Hitman Absolution. I eventually figured it out on vulkan games you have to have use borderless window enabled or the injector doesn't work. Or you have to do some manual config hack by creating a .conf file to fix the container for fullscreen. The reason why I'm on vulkan since Hitman Absolution is DX11? see pic rel. and this is not to do with HDR. Weird issues on new cards that breaks global illumination and only doitsujin's dxvk can fix it and a very specific version number as well, even his latest build doesn't work/will just crash the game so a very obscure fix.

On another note turning old SDR games into HDR looks pretty neat. I'm looking forward to seeing Condemned Criminal Origins next.

Every pagan mythology is rooted in actual events of the antedeluvian world. So-called mythical creatures-- minotaurs, centaurs, satyrs, sphinxes, giants, dragons, and so on... Are not "allegorical" or "creative imaginings" of primitives who didn't have access to "le heckin' science"... Instead, these are slightly distorted oral histories that circumscribe what life was like before the flood-- literal unironic abominations existed before the flood and walked the earth; and they cruelly abused, raped, and cannibalized humans.

What's more-- so-called "enlightened" occultists love to pay homage to the antedeluvian world. One of the ways they do this is with media. In the 1600s, there were plays funded by occultic groups which paid homage to the Wild Man archetype. Nowadays, we have film, television, and video games instead of plays. Much of the "fantasy" genre in media is a direct re-telling of the pre-flood world. Where giants and genetic abominations and a line of sinister humans (Line of Cain) ruled over humanity and cruelly abused humans in incomprehensible ways. Some franchises are more overt about it than others. VTM is particularly egregious in their open nephilim worship.

By the way, it's not necessary to know or understand this in order to do what's right and live a good life in accordance to God's laws and God's will.

have been playing Schedule 1. I wish police improvements won their update poll, it's too easy to avoid the police and combat with them is trivial. The cartel ambushes or angry customers pulling a shiv on you are far more dangerous. The soundtrack is goated, Kaesul didn't have to go that hard but thank god he did.

Sage wisdom go: its ok to sell out your morals short term to get into a financial position of power
You can undo social/spiritual damage with money, but being broke will eat up your time and health forever.
Just dont stay a bad person. I've seen peeps during my time in Hollywood. Do some bad, get money, and do lots of good with that money. The hard part is not staying in that kind of life.
Playing games, addiction, suffering. You develop coping mechanisms for yourself. But you need to not stay that way forever.

oh right, right wrist never hurt, left wrist stopped hurting since I started wearing a wrist stabilizing wrap. Back usually slightly hurts because of my fucked up hip joints courtesy of the US Navy. Usually the military fucks up your knees and lower back, but I've got torn cartilage and nerve impingement in my hips where if I sit with "ergonomically and anatomically" correct posture I start to get neuropathy pain in my legs so I have to sit with a slight lean which tweaks my back. I'm half tempted to find a way to rig a rolling chair pnematic mechanism to a recliner at this point. Unless it already exists?

39 here.
>What game did you play this week?
Nothing but Ascension CoA. It's been great fun. No one knows much anything about the new classes so there's practically no established meta. People are just playing the game, grouping for quests, sharing tips and tricks etc. Really takes me back to the old vanilla days.
>How's your back and wrists?
The back's great, but my right wrist has been a bit sore for some reason this week. I've never had issues with it before. Would suck to develop carpal tunnel at this age when I've managed to dodge it for so long. I think it's passing, though, doesn't feel as bad as it did a couple days ago.

Life's good.

I've been finishing up (emulated original) Xenoblade Chronicles. My save file got corrupted due to a thunderstorm, so I enabled level 99 and just blew through most of the game after spending 44 hours leveling to like level 40-42 and being up to the Dragon forest boss in the story before that point.

Took me like 2 hours to jump to that point and then I'm about 12 hours up to the Mech's titular city as the war pops off again.

Apparently that's around 80% but if I wasn't using cheats, I'd probably be like 45% of the way through the game and at around 60-80 hours.

The games good, but Jesus Christ it has some pacing issues and the side-quests being the only effecient way to level in the original kills the pacing because the MMORPG design means dumping everything onto you by following a checklist and then burning through them killing enemies and getting lootdrops if you're lucky to finish them all as quickly as possible.

Yeah, probably the super bosses which I'm going to ignore because at this point I'm burned out.

I really like the MMORPG combat system (even if isn't exactly like the Gambit system/FF12, which people sold it to me as), but they really REALLY needed to refine the sidequest systems. Either show me people have side-quests, make them available and known or fuck off. This whole "stop and forward time backward/forward two hours at a time and then step to a new area in the town" quest system is awful pacing. Throwing in the "affinity chart" system, which is a neat gimmick but also locks quests to where you can't level efficiently is stupid as hell and burns you out quickly.

That's pretty similar to my first experience, and the second. Noita is one of a handful of games I ever refunded, and then the second time around it just stuck with me.
I think part of it was watching some gameplay from other players Dunkorslam specifically and once I saw what was possible and new some tips and tricks, I felt more motivated to try it out myself.
So I'd recommend the same Some of the game is rather obtuse, so a little bit of research isn't a bad idea. My only regret was having the ending spoiled for me, so I'd avoid that.

>but i have dreams
you mean slaving away for money you can't use to impress some imaginary hope in the silhouette of a person with the identity of an instagram ad? literally just play games instead

you only believe that because your idea of entertainment is based on your entire childhood being spent on fortnite, gta 5, and the occasional minecraft.

You think games are nothing because you have gained nothing, because you made yourself into nothing.
You were supposed to become a genius in early highschool and tour the world with your ingenuity. You fucked that up and now have nothing to gain or provide. The very least you could do is acknowledge that your desires are purely the shit you've seen on your phone.

you will be here anyway, it doesnt matter if you do waste your life or not.
but if i can say one thing then its to keep living with your parents for as long as you can, especially if you earn your own money. its super easy to store away some funds if you dont have any bills to pay.
i moved out with 17 and began learning a trade, i had to pay my own bills from the start and no way to save some cash.
when i was 20 and we finished training some were able to buy brand new cars and one dude had enough savings for the initial payment (usually 30 percent of the total worth here) to buy his own apartment.
living with your parents and saving up cash is such a goldmine.

swear they put something else in it, man. i went through a big supplement phase, and for a laugh i took a bunch of powders and pills that are the same ingredients as monster white (taurine, guanine slow release caffeine, etc), plus a cup of black coffee. it just doesnt hit the same. once back when i was 22 and still in college, i had a can of monster after a good week of sleep deprivation and MAN it hit me. it even cleared up my hearing if that makes sense. as in, i was in the food hall and it was busy and echo-ey, and the russling of the huge crowd became clear all of a sudden. im convinced they sneak a little dose of amphetemine in there, but ive never had that effect ever again.

Hell yeah PS3 bro I just finished that and now I'm on Dark Souls.

These games deserve the hype and really are among the best I've ever played but it bugs me how they go out of their way to waste your time. For example the flamelurker boss walk in DeS-- Just give me a checkpoint you squinty fucking nips. That shit isn't fun. And in DaS there's a similar level called Sen's Fortress where the bonfire right before the boss is hidden off a random ledge that NOBODY would ever jump off or look past except by accident. I've never felt less guilty using a guide and looking shit up on youtube.

There's also no indication of how your stat progression or current inventory fit into the overall game. How am I supposed to know not to level my katana past +10 or I won't be able to turn it into a boss weapon anymore? Or that it can turn into a boss weapon at all? The chances of running into a fun build order on your own are almost zero.

Anyway enjoy DeS bro. What's your build?

Build up and emergency fund of about 1-3 month savings then learn how to open an investing account e.g. on trading 212 and start putting savings into an index fund (either s&p 500 or global) every month and let it compound over decades
As soon as you see any hairline refeeding/thinning get on finasteride/minoxidyl. Take a low dose for about a month and see if you have any improvement, stop immediately if you get any side effects.
Autistically track calories for a week or two and eat as you normally would, this will give you a sense of some things you eat that might not be worth the health cost (you would not believe how many calories there are in mayo)
Treat time like gold, you only have a limited amount of time on earth and any time you spend doom scrolling is gone for good. If you waste 10 minutes here and 20minutes there it all adds up faster than you would think. I'm sure many people think games are a waste of time but the internet is much worse, I fondly look back on getting lost in games during long summers as a kid, I can't recall a single minute of my life that I spent in the twitter mines in the 2010s
Also you can literally just chose to not care about things
>>
>>743199390
Work on/through your traumas if you had any. The hardest part is probably just identifying or recognizing that you had any in the first place.
Get out of your comfort zone. If you're struggling with socializing do more of that. Even if you don't find people all that interesting, do it at least so it's not out of fear that you're not talking to people.

Good point. I’ve never really regretted any time I’ve spent on singleplayer games, because they at least have a clear end and leave some memories, but doomscrolling consumes insane amounts of time and leaves nothing behind.

4chan etc. have their own time and place for those times when you are too tired to do anything more consequential, but spending too much time here is certainly a worse waste of time than actually playing something.

I'm dipping my toes in Stalker GAMMA. I really don't like how they turned Stalker into a convoluted menu crawling game with the repair and upgrade system, but I do like the smoother feeling combat.
I'm a bit conflicted. Maybe I'll like it more when I understand the systems better and know what I can ignore, but ideally I'd be playing something closer to the originals while keeping the combat and graphical upgrades.

Fall into a routine where you start feeling bad if you miss out on doing something (working out, studying, school, etc). Don't focus too hard on the inevitably of life, but it does help in starting things now rather than tomorrow. Also, talk to people online or in person, and after school years are over, you have to throw yourself in situations to meet old and new people.

Of course, easier said than done.

You shouldn't need to be doing much in the menus. Upgrade and repair systems are easy once you learn how they work with the crafting bench.

Best thing for crafting is when you get to Rostok, buy a crafting workbench as soon as you can and store all crafting, upgrading and repair stuff in it.

Repairing armour is the worst thing as there is more to it than repairing a weapon, haven't tried the most recent release of gamma (0.9.5) but the armour system was reworked so might be easier than it was.

Stick with it. Noita is a very different game from most others. In fact, I wouldn't even worry about having the "I need to beat this game" mentality because just getting to the bottom and beating the boss is only the beginning and it is much more fun to just explore and experiment.

Do the daily challenge runs if for nothing else it lets you experiment with things you may not have seen before (it starts you with random spells / wands / items). It is great for learning.

I wouldn't. Most of the people complaining are Americans, and a lot of what they're reacting to is the decline of their country's global dominance. Look back at 2016, where most of the middle east was at war with itself. or even 2006, where the Iraq war was at full swing. You know, the war that killed over a million Iraqis?
bad things were happening for most of the world, even if life seemed relatively better from an American perspective.

I'm the same age and I feel pretty sad as well, but I try to stay super active and groomed (even if I have an ugly face). It feels wild that I'm almost 34 yet I still try to date 25 year olds, because I still feel like I'm 28 or 29. Also non-existent, but I walk a lot, if that counts, and sometimes go on longer hikes. Usually there's an underlying cause for central apnea, and given how actual intensive exercise makes me feel like I'm literally dying (and I'm not even obese), I feel like maybe my heart is going. Oh well.

>because I still feel like I'm 28 or 29

I can relate but I also feel like that's maybe how everyone feels, even when they're older. I'm sure I won't feel much different 10-20 years from now, if I manage to live that long.

>I was in a dumb three year meh situationship after that..

I wouldn't know I've been struggling for longer than you've been alive. Just keep grinding and learning and know it doesn't get better. There's just peaks and valleys. Your best day will be topped and so will your worst, sometimes back to back. There is no rhyme or reason to any of it so just try to be as flexible in skill set and knowledge as possible to adapt.
If you don't learn something a day you might as well be dead.and I don't mean skin a YouTube video. Do it. That'll serve you pretty well.

>What game did you play this week?
I got into the Final Fantasy series a couple weeks ago after finally getting a SuperStation One. 1 was jank, but I could appreciate that it was 'new' at the time. I did not enjoy 2 at all. So many dead-ends in dungeons and the 4th party member slot was just a revolving door. Some ideas were cool on paper, but the execution was off. I'm almost done with 3 and it is fantastic.
>How's your back and wrists?
Back is great. My left wrist is kinda weak, but I adjusted to doing knuckle push-ups, so it's fine.

>avoid hard labor jobs, weight, lifting, and sports in your youth you will still feel young in your 40s
>its not the other way around?
Here's the thing, exercise keeps you healthy, but too much exercise destroys your joints and puts unnecessary strain over your body. If you don't have some prime genetics to thrive on said exercise regime, you'll just be spending your body's "warranty" way faster than necessary. Just eat well, walk around more instead of getting in your car and occasionally lift some weights and you can keep your body chugging well into your 50's.

Hey, I went for strength as a general guideline and settled on sticking with bastard sword because I liked being able to switch to 2 handed and break enemy defenses like that. The coolest moment was realizing I could use it with the shield too with high enough stats.

The difficulty for me was the start where I didn't want to use up my healing items since I couldn't gauge their scarcity. Same with stones of ephemeral eyes. I spent basically the first half of the game gimping myself and progressing at a glacial pace because of those unknowns. Once I felt more comfortable in being able to obtain resources it turned into more or less of a cakewalk for me by the end. But the runbacks were absolutely horrid before I got a grasp on everything yeah and I think flamelurker was one of the hardest bosses in the game too. Then there's the whole thing about the optimal stage order which made a huge difference too. Like if you did the mine levels first you could get a shitton of upgrades for your swords in a very short period of time vs basically no resources for that elsewhere and that's like what almost 2x the damage output difference? I feel like putting 1-2 as the stage most players would likely pick after the intro level was purposeful bait.

For the stats and builds and weapons I am okay not being a minmax fiend the first time around though I do agree they should fully explain everything on that front so that your decisions are as informed as possible.

I'll probably be doing kf4 or das next, looking forward to it and seeing in what ways these games are the same and different from one another.

>What game did you play this week?
Continuing slowly through Lufia 2 at a pace of "maybe one dungeon per night." I don't think it's especially good but I'm pretty sure I'm well past the halfway mark so I might as well see it through.
Also played a lot of Binding of Isaac since I got it's DLC for cheap on the Steam sale. Played a Mecca Chameleon with friends on Friday night. It's dumb fun with just a couple dollars admission.
>How's your back and wrists?
Just fine usually. I am dealing with some foot pain that's expected to keep me down for 6-12 weeks, though. There's definitely going to be some strength loss in that time. It's only one week in and the idleness is killing me.
>>
I've had back pain since my 20s and just started getting hand pain. Hard to say how much is from video gaming and how much is from work, maybe it's a combo.
I just live with the back pain. It always kind of hurts but it's not crippling, except once a year for two weeks when it flares up. Hand pain is new, about three weeks now, definitely carpal tunnel. My hands sometimes go numb gripping things like the steering wheel or a controller/mouse, but they're fine at work. Excruciating pain when waking up every morning, but it immediately stopped when I got a hand splint so I'll be alright.
My biggest worry is how much worse this stuff will get when I'm older. I'm only 35 now. You see those healthy, active old men, but I will probably be that fucker with a walker or in a wheelchair honestly. Only pre-middle-aged youth is keeping me going right now. This shit is going to suck ass before I'm even retirement age. I don't think there's any fixing it without surgery and that doesn't always work

>What did you play this week?

I played an Arcade racing game called Inertial Drift, it's not bad but not great either, it has a high learning curve and it's not optimized for Switch and sometimes crashes.

Currently enjoying Genshin Impact, Stellar Blade, Asterigos and Grid Legends on PS5; Gal Gun Returns, Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Mario Kart World on Switch 2; and also playing Thymesia, Motorslice and Battlefield 3 Campaign on Xbox Series X

Also I recently bought a physical copy of Cruise n Blast on Switch 2, Devil May Cry V: Devil Hunters edition, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Xillia on Switch 2

Anyone can recommend me other games for this summer?

I'm thinking on playing FF7: Rebirth (on PS5 tho)

I think you REALLY need to find yourself in your 30s, otherwise it is utter cancer. You really also need to lean into what makes you happy and fulfilled.

In your 20s it is bearable to have a stressful job because you're still young, and even if women don't call you back you still have the potential for meeting a baddie the next day from youth alone. In your 30s, you need to actively hunt down those possibilities with a fervor far beyond just "working hard," otherwise you will be stuck with a boring 30 year old woman who just wants to drink beer and watch the office all day while whining. Basically if you want to date a winner it becomes REAL difficult. I think that's why people start caring about fitness and fashion so much, you really need to up your game in your 30s.

You just stop now? I don't get these posts. If you feel like it's a waste now why would you keep at it? Leave this place or don't, but don't measure yourself from an NPC perspective. You aren't going to magically change radically from one moment to another just because nor should you try to do that artificially. So if there's someone you'd rather be in the future, be that person now.
In short, bee you'reself.

Agreed. I think it makes sense if you have a kid, or like you said if you really want to treat it as a home. They're normally much nicer than apartments, and you can renovate and make it your own. I had a buddy take a complete bath on a house in Denver (2br,1ba, half a million dollars), right as the market crashed in denver. The guy lost like half the value and decided to just peace out to Copenhagen instead. He is stabilizing now, married with a kid on the way, but the property still plagues him since he can't rent it and needs to still pay etc. I like the house, it's nice and hip, but there are so many fucking homeless around it now that people won't touch it.

40+ here.

About 66 hours into Metaphor. I kinda love it. Probably the best written and voice acted jrpg I've ever played. It sounds and feels as though English was the native language of the devs.

Back and wrists? They ache from time to time but it's nothing Tylenol can't handle. Gonna grab some angry orchards later.

Which jrpg has better English voice acting? Most Japanese games sound like they hire really shitty western anime voice actors. Everyone in Metaphor sound like European stage actors, which maybe the exception of Gallica who sounds like Lindzey from Kingmaker.

>>743267060
Literally the whole plot of the game is centered around race so it is what it is. There's zero LGBT/pronoun shit in the game so I count that as a victory. Also literally everyone in your party roster is white except maybe Basilio.

>What game did you play this week?
Planned to play a little bit of Starfox SW2 last night and wound up awake till midnight taking the hour or so to do a whole campaign. I'm rusty and some of it took getting acclimated...but deep down I know my run was trash. I even fucked up Sector Z. I was mad at myself.

I also played a little FF Rebirth and a replay of FF Remake, which I bought for the full $40 like two days before it got marked down to fucking $17. Aggravating. Rebirth has been more my focus though, since I keep wanting to finally fucking beat it, but I keep getting positively cracked out on side content. Not in a bad way. I'm pleasantly surprised by how well it uses boundaries and limits overall traversal to make you actually *think* about how to reach point B from point A in places, it's not something I encounter often in games that still fit a "sandbox" definition.

>How's your back
My back WAS kind of shitty until I finally said "fuck it" and laid out for a day from my job, as I'd been planning to do for weeks for that very reason. Noticeably better at work today.
>and wrists
Left one's been acting up for like...a year, not exaggerating. It'll be off-and-on and all a doctor will say is "well stay off it or wear a brace or some shit" and my job doesn't really permit that. And it's not so bad that it risks any serious injury, so meh.

>What game did you play this week?
I read several titles from the Savvarrah series and tried to play through Serious Sam The First Encounter.
I dropped the latter, though, because the SS levels are comprised of all the stuff I can't stand in FPS games. The levels have no verticality, enemies just teleport in whenever you hit a flag, and waves of enemies are overstuffed. I got to Kleer Alley and realized I'd have to restart the level if I wanted to have a chance at clearing it, but I hadn't been having fun so I decided to drop it instead.

Yeah, it's pretty decent. You really have to take everything people say here with a grain of salt. A lot of people seem motivated to steer others away from certain games simply because they disagree with the game's message.

I've noticed a recurring pattern. almost every game /v/ absolutely trashes ends up being pretty enjoyable to me. It's gotten to the point where I'll check the threads, and they're just full of doomers hating on whatever the latest game is.

Sometimes the complaints get downright silly. Every Persona 3 Reload thread has someone posting the same tired FES vs. Reload comparison images, and the criticisms are always eye-rolling, like the hallways supposedly not being dark enough.

Revival isn't even out yet. Nothing has been confirmed, and people are already calling it shit. Since they don't have any content they can trash, they're generating AI fake images and trying fo bait people into hating the game with them. It's just so silly.

It's funny to me that they made JD on wakeup harder in CotW than in its predecessor. In MotW on reset or wakeup you're still considered in the earliest frames of your block even if you hold it down the entire time, so you basically get free JD. I honestly hate how nerfed guard cancels are in CotW.

Completely isolated but the nearest "big city" can be reached by plane so no worries. Linked to aussie culture? Nah. Australians? Nope, they prefer to go to New Caledonia when it comes to pacific destionations, I guess. Majority of tourists are in Bora Bora, Papeete and so on. Great place to be anon go visit, same money and there it is. I got 4 kids, work my ass off (alongside the wife), it's hard af to pay bills, school is expensive, I drive 50km daily, I'm tired af, I cook, she cooks, I clean, she cleans. Well I hope you have a good time, it sounds like you and the missus deserve it. I have to say I'm in a pretty much polar opposite situation from that. Don't have a family of my own, so I'm slobmaxxing...within reason. Just kind of not giving a fuck as far as I can. It's sorta freeing. It gets depressing, too. But it does highlight how nice it is to be outside of the relationship I was in previously and ultimately makes it to where I'm not horribly fussed over where I'm at. Do have some envy for someone in your situation, with a wife and kids and established lifestyle and all that, but I'm at a point where I try to turn that around to where I'm happy for you, because more power to you. And I hope you have similar gratitude, which I'm sure you do.

Anyway to pivot back to video games, I was hoping DQVII anon replied, because I've been curious about DQVII Reimagined since I played the demo, but I understand it's pared down from the original. Still wondering just how essential the content in the original is considered for "the full experience" and all that. If I knew Japanese then I'd probably be more pedantic about playing it in its original incarnation, but I don't, so it doesn't matter as much.

It's still pretty lenient in CotW, like if someone is putting you in a block string you can just sort of lean into auto-black from the initial back input and mash out whatever and still get the guard cancel a lot of the time. I'm not sure just how much something has to be a "true string" for the auto-block to be in effect for this long, from my experience it didn't seem like it, but I don't main fighting games anymore.
>know how good or bad it is
I'm sure it's mainly considered fine as a mechanic from the competitive angle, people generally don't have a lot of complaints about that in CotW and I'm sure many consider it a positive chain. But I personally hate how scaled guard cancels are and having a meter tied to them.

It is and isn't. It has "bullet time" but the weapons are all hitscan, so there is no true "bullet time" where bullets travel in slow mo a la Max Payne and the Matrix.

It's good for a Unity game though and the sequel being announced has me sort of hyped they'll dial in the Max Payne gameplay.

I just think guard cancels being free and unscaled in MotW contributes something legitimately interesting to the neutral that changes matches significantly based on whether both you and your opponent do it. Fireballs stay viable but you start having to think about how to time them because doing it recklessly will just mean someone guard canceling into their own and making you take the damage.
