Still working on getting multiplayer up and running. I threw out an update for the benefit of Horbror to try it but it turns out a combination of a very aggressive antimalware and my own router not having the ability to port forward without their silly app means I cannot test the worldwide abilities of my game with someone from Sweden. I guess today there's AI models and template packs and you can autistically keep it low poly and use vertex shading... But if you're going for actual good-looking 3D your single map will easily have 50+ models each one with 6 sides of textures on top of topology, UVs, normals...and finally lighting and post-proc you're now obsessively writing shaders for if you didn't lock the scope to some arbitrarily ugly state.Then you'll go back to sprites for a change and have entire maps done in a week as you now make assets for the effort needed by 1/6 of the textures of one model, with lighting basically not a concern anymore. I started learning Maya, it's a lot nicer than Blender in some ways. Edge Flow just by itself is a godsend.Soft/Hard edge is really frustrating, it keeps selecting what I want as soft edges and makes them hard.. Marking an edge as soft barely seems to affect how it renders too. dk what I'm messing up there...I heard it's way better for animations too which seems nice

I've been stuck doing one aspect and I think it's going to take a week max to finish up, mainly since it's a bunch of dialogue and the rest outside of that I have to theorize exactly I want to do for it as it will reshape some aspects of the code's backend when activated. I set some artists to make stuff for another section which will be fun to fuck around with.all in all, slow but doing well.
