I don't get why romance in wrpgs haven't evolved at all. It's pretty much the same setup like BG2. Talk to a party member whenever you get the chance, flirt whenever you get the chance, agree with everything they say, become their lover, have sex once - and then that box is ticked and nothing really changes. There might be a few comments from other party members and maybe you can talk to them and request a kiss or declare your love, but that's pretty much it.The only game I know of that did something a bit different was DA2. Shitty game, but the way you could actually disagree with party members and have them be rivals yet still have a romance with them was great.Romance is clearly a popular aspect of these games, why aren't devs making something a bit more original?

I dunno, I like RPGs, especially companion centric games since I grew up on BG1/2, NWN, KOTOR, etc, but I can't really think of many games where I actually thought the romance I chose was any good. Corrupting Bastila in KOTOR is neat but she fucking sucks. Shadowheart's tradwife ending in BG3 is pretty good. Nothing else has really stuck with me.
