Nah, the foundational combat is part of the appeal.

ALTTP is all about fundamental design, it has a huge amount of unique enemy types that are present together in the same area, tons of unique environments with considerations for terrain and hazards/traps, combat is fast paced and dynamic, different enemies require different tactics and prioritization, spacing and positioning are vitally important, you have various items that have their own niche and situational usefulness, careful resource balancing is necessary, dungeons are complex and labyrinthine and require extensive mental mapping, and puzzles are oftentimes intermingled directly with the intense combat.

Too many games get caught up in feature bloat and comboslop and fail the fundamentals
