>Metal Gear(Not Solid) will be 40 years old next year
What announcement would you like to see for this event?
>>
Konami going bankrupt
>>
>>743259748
When they are trying to regrow in the vidya market?
>>
>>743259679
I can see it now Metal Gear Outer Heaven, a mobile game auto defense game where you link together rooms to make the ultimate Outer Heaven. Stop other players Solid Snake from getting to the end and destroying Metal Gear!
>>
>>743259679
A Peace Walker remake.

>When they are trying to regrow in the vidya market?
By firing Kojima and disbanding Team Silent? Konami is fucking dead to me.
>>
Nothing. Hopefully once boomers die everyone will forget about this absolute slop franchise.
>>
>>743260518
think they did that with mgs4
>>
>>743259679
Wish they reboot the series. Now that the retard Kojima is gone they can start over again and let loose of all the retardation his writing has brought. I am also fine with another non canon series like Acid or Ghost Babel.
>>
>>743260518
I don't think they even do much mobile games nowadays, they seem to want to make console games again.
>>
>>743262542
Kojimbo most likely long moved on from that. Heck, he might even still talk to the people currently making the games, as many were some of his in the past.
>>
>>743259679
nothing, but they'll probably announce another pointless remake
>>
Guessing
>new remake
>new spin off
>another remaster/another collection
>maybe news about the movie?(Is it even up to them on that?)
>>
>>743259679
Liquid Snake game.
But serious answer is getting Platinum to make MGR2 since they did help with the nightmare in MGS Delta. But Platinum might be busy with The Last Ronin.
>>
>>743264878
They used to work on many games at the same time, they might be back at doing this due to losing too much money with some of their failed games and cancellations. It was a game done by developers from both studios, so that multiplied the speed of development.

The nightmare character looks suspiciously similar so this might be happening, or at least something happening with Rising
>>
>>743259679
Just let it rest in peace
>>
>>743265287
Kojimbo wanted more without his involvement before tbf
As long it's done with honesty and respect to what was made before, it's fine.
and to be real, these games sold too well to be stopped like this, this isn't a small niche passion thing.

better look at the character
>>
>Metal Gear Rising 2
>Metal Gear Solid: Rising
>Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Delta
>Metal Gear Solid 1 Delta
one of these

It's fun to see how messed up you can get your big boss, even in the last scene of the game.
>>743265945
I don't think the "Delta" name will be kept for another remake, as it was used in the last one to say that it didn't do many changes. Now that they proved they are able to recreate things 1 to 1, they might try to get more freestyle with what they do next.
>>
>>743266269
i hope so but everything about Delta felt very tepid and obligatory. i don't really get any sense of excitement from Konami over it. meanwhile Silent Hill can have like 30 games and if half of them flop who gives a shit. but Metal Gear? ehhh you can do one "remake" but don't actually remake anything just do the game 1:1 with shinier graphics. it feels so unambitious from a series that used to swing for the fences every single time even if it didn't always land.
>>
>>743266480
They probably was on their guard with Metal Gear and didn't wanted to fuck up their first game to revive things. But they might feel more confident now.
Funnily enough, the now-dead multiplayer mode they added actually has a lot of unique new features and differences. so it's not like they are unable to do it.
Silent Hill never really did well before, so they threw a bunch of stuff at a wall and looked at what worked. it's why there was good games but also bad ones.
>>
>>743259679
metal gear liquid when?
>>
I'm simply not buying a Konami product.

People think he's ugly because he looks closer to his older look but he grew on me
>>
>>743259679
I'm also 40 and I'm not solid. It kinda sucks.
>>
I honestly think Sigint is a MGS game of some sorts. It seems to be his final game apparently. It would make sense to end on what made Kojima famous. The most eyebrow raising thing to me is that Sony already guaranteed to make a movie about the game. That's strange to do that with an unproven IP. Oh yea Sony has the movie rights to MGS sure that's not related

Not me. I haven't moved on. I probably never will. I don't play anything made by Konami anymore. I wish them the worst.
>>
>>743262542
Literally why did they do that in the first place? What did they get out of it?
>>
>>743269839
wasn't the entire point of the last MGS made by Kojimbo to not carry long grudges because it's bad?
>>
>>743269937
IIIC TS was because the games did not sell well at all with japanese players, so they thought focusing on the westerners even with the development might work better (it didn't), not all people left the company after, some are still there today.
as for Kojimbob, there's many theories and rumors, some even contradicting each others, but there's no official reasons. He wasn't even fired "officially", he left the company. He never talked about what happened beside saying he left. Though a few of his developers followed him, but there's also many who didn't. Either it's very complicated or it's much more simple that what people ended up building.
>>
>>743262542
kojima wanted to leave for ages but they kept forcing him to make metal gear games instead of something different so he just took advantage of the situation and milked konami for all they were worth
>>
>>743260986
the HD version is fine thoughbeit
>>
>>743270428
if we go on technicalities, it wasn't much Konami who forced his hand, a lot of it was the players themselves. And it's still the case too, the only reasons he's making his new game is because people kept asking for it and he felt obligated again.
>>
>>743270490
and it's releasing again next month too on current platforms.
>>
>>743270250
It's just a psyop to keep the goys down and docile. Hell, most media is.
