I babysat for a friend on Saturday. Made her kids some breakfast, and then sent them outside to play because it was such a gorgeous day. Then I checked out my friend's PS5. She had just bought Marathon! I texted her if it was okay if I played it since, I'll be honest, I have never played an extraction shooter and I didn't want to lose some ultra rare item that she had on her. She said go ahead, she barely played it herself!It took me 30 minutes to get into a match. I found everything very bizarre and frustrating. Buildings reminded me of buildings children would draw. I couldn't intuitively figure out what actually had loot in it. I didn't find much to do until a robot randomly appeared in front of me on a hill and killed me. I don't know if this was a player or not. For those of you that have been here forever and remember every day of their life like I do, do you remember that free weekend this game had on Steam back in the 10s? Free weekends were kinda rare then, so it was neat! A lot of /v/irgins got in on it and it was a lot of fun!And nobody bought it and we never talked about it again.
