>Studio gets layoffs or just shut down entirely even if the game sells wellWe joke about industry crashes but is this not it crashing in real time?
>>743264426Nothing good comes of it.All it does is allow the enemy to buy up our companies for cheap and then drain our money, transferring it to the enemy nation. We should ONLY buy local (west-made) games.
>Ubisoft is gonna keep remaking ass creed games now that the black flag remake did wellWho would want to?
>>743264426when capcom and nintendo die, it will be a crashuntil then, enjoy the panic
>>743264426Thing is the remaining people will be either kept as a skeleton crew or merged with other remainlets/survivors from other studios of their publishers, their experiences from making different genres of games then lead to an uncertain future how their games in the future will perform (sales and if we gamers will even like them)
>>743265852Nintendo could burn money on another couple hardware failures and still have enough in reserve to survive it and not fire anybody. I actually dont think they will ever be in trouble ever again considering they have made more money now than they did from NES to Wii combined.
it's not a crash it's just a bunch of corpos shuffling money allocations around. there's still money, there's still corpos, this ain't shit.
>>743264426>is this not it crashing in real time? No. Its some over-valued bloated companies that over-extended themselves because they thought the covid boom would last forever. But in 2026 you don't need to be making console games for a AAA publisher to be successful at making video games. Shit your biggest barrier to success in this day and age is just marketing and advertising to your audience.
Probably the economy self correcting. Infinite growth isn't real
>>743266798If i was Sony or Microsoft and saw Meccha Chameleon selling 1 billion copies id question my existence.
>>743265720>took out the real world section Actually and unironically the one time in the entire series that I didn't hate the real-world segments. It was comfy to walk around the kind of post-modern techbro office that I'll never get to work in, and I liked that you were just some asshole working in QA of a big video game company and some of the meta-humor was pretty clever. I also have a real soft spot when a game has some location where your progress and completion is physically displayed. Like your dorm room in bully that fills up with posters and shit from your adventures, or in black flag your desk, you got more figurines and shit on your desk that made progress more than just a bar or percentages.
Usually what happens is even if a game does well, they still are doing bad because some other games they released did bad.
>>743264426It's already crashing, people just don't know it yet.
>>743266932Yeah, I mean that and the hollywood studio system always baffles me. I am not a particularly smart, observant, or clever person, but its hard to not sit in an armchair and realize that I could actually do these jobs better than the people in charge. I understand spending a fortune on call of duty and elder scrolls, and letting those be big tent-poles that you try to leave well enough alone. But I don't know why you'd have all of these studios and not take a handful of solid devs, and instead of using them to produce content for the GaaS mill, go "Here is $X, over the next 10 years I want 5 AA+ games. I don't give a fuck what they are as long as they're not shit. There's a $Y bonus if any of these games hit [metrics]. Don't be late, don't go over budget." And then just market those games to the right audience. None of them are so expensive that a flop sinks you, none are so expensive they can't make their money back, and they're cheap enough that if one manages to break out then you've just funded the next 10 games, identified talent in house, and can begin developing them, who can then begin developing the people under them, and eventually you have a stable of talent who know how to make games an audience likes while working within budget an time constraints.
>>743264426>Project finishes>Have to find new ProjectWelcome to the entertainment industry anon. Do you cry for actors too when filming wraps? Or is that different because it's not part of your gay little gaming hobby
>>743264426>Studio gets layoffs or just shut down entirely even if the game sells wellWhich ones? I only saw god awful studios get closed
