I've never really got into rhythm games unless it had an interesting controller. Like Guitar Hero, or arcade games. Because of that, I haven't played any in a good while
What are some satisfying rhythm games to play, on steam or w/e, despite them not having an interesting controller?
Is Crypt of the Necrodancer cool?

Rift of the Necrodancer is a pure rhythm game. Fans make a lot of fan tracks too so you don't have to buy all the Friday Night Funkin DLC etc.
Sixtar Gate was cute. I didn't give it enough of a shot but the aesthetics are on point.
DJMAX is the best mainstream one probably. The tracks get better with each DLC because of how much they're making fleecing consumers with the song prices. They can keep improving the artists and stuff.

Please bring back Miku Mondays

The only pure rhythm game is rhythm haven and clones
rift of the necrodancer is even less so than stuff like project diva miku or osu

It has colored squares moving towards you and you hit the button on each line. That's as pure as it gets.

PS4 was a huge console for rhythm games, so if you have one you're in the money. Some went to Steam eventually but not all.

My suggestions:
Project Diva
DJMAX
Theatrhythm Final Bar Line and Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory (if you like FF/KH music)
Persona 3 and 5 Dancing (if you like Persona music)
Taiko no Tatsujin
AVICII Invector
SUPERBEAT XONiC

I'm so tired of you retards

don't waste your time with anything that never had an arcade release. no indieshit meme games. play arcaea or miku if you dont want to get into controller autism, or osu if you have a drawing tablet laying around

>>seething his reaction games aren't pure rhythm games
If you can't play it blind, not a real rhythm game

>plays baby's first rhythm game
>thinks this is the definition of a genre that had been established for a decade prior

Rhythm Heaven supremacists are like this because they're not good enough to play other rhythm games and you can't convince me otherwise.

all the cool ones are in arcades

pop'n music is still pretty fun even if you don't have the controller

Anything I can play on a normal controller outside of Megamix? From what I understand all these games need some special controller

Some of them have special controllers, but if they're a home release, they work on a controller or at least your keyboard.

Even Guitar Hero could be played on controller, as inadvisable as that might be.
