I was lied to by the internet about 4x games.
I was told how complicated they were, and how you need a college degree to play paradox games effectively, but the ai in these games is beyond dogshit and poses no challenge whatsoever.
After you learn the games systems your left with a non challenging easy ass game and are forced to move onto multiplayer for a challenge.
Fuck 4x boomers rts are way more deep.

Yeah I enjoyed Alpha Centauri but these games are both slow and easy even on the highest difficulties, and multiplayer seems painfully slow.
