Would it be dumb to get one of the original 60gb models in the current year?
early ps3 models fail a lotget a slim or super slim instead
>>743283838thisthe fat ones get too hoteven though they LOOK THE BESTslim ones are more reliableThe last good slims are the ones that still have the blue LED for the disc being inserted
if you REALLY want a PS3 that can play PS2 games i guess
>>743283875does frankieing it make it run less hot
>>743283615Get a slim or super slim instead They can run all PS1 games by default and with CFW most PS2 games work too
Bit dumb but if you do, just change the thermal paste. Mine still works well.
>>743283838>>743283862I have a phat from 2007 and it still works fine.
>>743283615When you can emulate everything on it for free... yes.
You can emulate a lot of the most popular PS2 games using any PS3, you know how there are some games like Persona 4 on the PS3 Store? that runs 100% on software emulator tailored(speedhacks) to that game, so people just inject PS2 games into those PS Store games and get them to work.
>>743283615just get a ps1 and ps2, ps3 cant output 240p
>>743284004I still have the Halo 3 Collectors Edition 360 and it was my main system from 2007 to about 2014 and it still works. That doesn't mean pre-Jasper revision fat 360s aren't unreliable pieces of shit.
>>743283862>they LOOK THE BESTSpiderman font ruins it.
Probably. The latet non backward compatible fats might fair better (mine manufactured in Oct 2008 still works). But at that point just get a slim.
>>743283615A lot of them are desoldering and getting YLOD. I had one that couldn't get past the intro cutscene in MGS4 anymore (I watched the stupid HD videos way too many times).
>>743283615It's dumb to do anything in current year so who cares.
>>743283615YLOD is inevitable you're better off getting a slim. The only advantage the fat had was linux and PS2 backwards compatibility but the BC on the fat was all over the place.
