I don't see the appeal of visual novels, you're just reading a book with cardboard cutouts of the characters. at this point just read or make a regular novel
VNs can have nice visuals.There can be voice acting.Music can be very good and create a mood for the scenes.Overall presentation can enhance the experience.In VN format there can be mindfuckery, gimmicks or other neat stuff.In short it's different from regular novels.

I only read moege cause it's the only genre anymore with cute attractive girls doing silly things and the cliche romance stories that don't really exist anymore now that JRPG romances have to be gay and retarded now.
