>Emerald is now worth 200$ loose when it used to be 30$

Is there any point collecting anything older than ps3/360? You are just getting raped by the prices at this point. x2 i can understand but x6? And the retard eating it up good. Just check ebay sales and you will see everyone buying them

Collecting shit is a mental illness. This is identical to stamp collecting, nobody cares.
>>
>>743291381
lol it really is but i "invested" a ton in mtg, pokemon, and old vidya between 2015-2020 and now these retarded millennials and zoomers are affording me new cars.

The price hikes plus the possibility of getting scammed with a fake cart make it an unattractive prospect. Some faggot on eBay pulled a bait-and-switch on me when I tried buying a Leaf Green cart (swapped the genuine photo for the fake AFTER I made the purchase). Got a full refund though. It's better just to emulate if shit is overpriced in general.

>>743291548
Yeah but who is buying those in this economy? you telling me people are having this much money? like in France. People lost 50% of their income easily, yet suddenly everyone is buying those Emerald card like you click and its all "sold" "in process" (being bought)

At this point people are either in debt or they just rich guys trying to hoarding and reselling at x2 in 10 years.
>>
>>743291545
there's hundreds of others like me out there anon. should have bought vintage gradable jp promos in 2017 lmao. better luck next time!

I just emulate the pokemans in my steam deck, buying the original hardware is for trannies and cucks
>>
>>743291548
Even reproduction carts are getting up to $40-50.
>>
>Game prices are all derived from pricecharting which is derived from data from sold eBay listings
What's to stop a reseller from selling a game to themselves for an absurdly high price to skew the average price up, and then recoup the cost of the ebay fees and profit from a sale at the new average?
>>
>>743293801
Might be true for some specific case, but alas you can see how it is on other website that show you if it really sold or like local video game store

Games that are between 50$ and 400$ are selling like a candy. 200-300$ became the new 100$. I'm on multiple discord and i check reddit, you realize that lot are just buying those and nothing else or are in "debt" using those "paypal x4" payement plan lol, even for a 30$ card

How about you collect some bitches instead
>>
>>743293983
I have a sealed copy of Fallout Brotherhood of Steel for OG Xbox and according to pricecharting that's "worth" about $300 CAD now, but that's really only due to an absurdly high $425 and $350 sale. For what's considered the worst Fallout game. So because of the spending habits of a few retards and potential swindlers the average shoots right up and that's what everyone's justified in charging now.
>>
>>743291548
Pokemon games are so routinely faked i'd only buy one from a legitimate retro store
>>
>>743291263
>le physical games!
Zoomer meme.
>>
>>743294202
Lol I built up an Xbox collection a while ago when they were cheap. This one was never on my radar though because the game sucks
>>
>>743294245
It's crazy how many shitty games are worth absurd amounts. I got Dino Crisis 3 for $50 CAD in a FB marketplace deal when it was worth around $80, now it's $115. What demand is there for it outside of it being Dino Crisis?
>>
>>743294203
That's what I had to do after getting the refund, went to buy it in person at CEX while having a good look at the cart myself (pretty sure they check the carts they purchase anyway, they did on a separate occasion when I sold them Pocky and Rocky 2 on SNES).
>>
>>743291381
Cared enough to get mad about it, lil bitch
>>
>>743291263
I started collecting in 2014 and I thought i was late to the party. Starting now is madness. You are simply too late when it comes to reasonable prices
>>
What's the point? You can literally just emulate the game.
Collecting what amounts to e-waste is just retarded
>>
>>743294323
It's pretty easy to corner the market of an obscure game by buying up all the copies on Ebay. I noticed this beginning to happen a few years ago. I tried it myself and bought up all the copies of a game yet to be shilled by a youtuber for £10, now it's 10x the price. Also just checked my collection's value and it hit another ATH today, guess things will get even crazier now that Snoy is killing physical.
>>
>>743294620
What game? Maybe I'll do this with the Harvey Birdman PS2 game and make a video on it calling it a hidden gem while downplaying any flaws it might have.

30 bucks from 2003 are 200 bucks from today after inflation.

It's piss easy to tell fakes from reals, you must be very low iq.

>>743294831
Yeah, just not diamond/platin/pearl, those are hard af because you can't open them, and they don't have the pokewalker thingie or the dsi protection
