Is screen peeking really considered cheating if you all have the exact same advantage? Or was it really just the fat friend's justification for why him picking Oddjob was fair because he selected him first?
it's not cheating if everybody can cheat. in my experience you're too focused on your own pov and don't have time to look at the other players pov and if you do i'd be a distraction that puts you at a disadvantage.
Knowing the layout of the stage is not cheating. Goldeneye gives you a god damn minimap, and if you want to turn that off, you have to unlock a cheat to do it anyway. I don't know why this rule became so ubiquitous, but it's never made sense to me.
How are you supposed to open a door or peak a corner if everyone is screenlooking? It ruins the gameplay entirely making it unfun for both sides.

All I remember is being pissed off playing with certain people, because if they saw anyone looking at thier character they would take evasive maneuvers. You couldn't approach from the back or snipe, and he would choose the brightest color so that he could spot himself on your screen quicker. This guy singlehandedly killed split screen gaming for me.

>>743301361i mean, at high levels you don't use the auto aim to begin with because it only puts your aim where you don't want it (their body) instead of where you do want it (their head)playing as oddjob not only means that you have to tilt your looking up even more than a normal character in order to line up with a normal height character's head vertically, and not only is it even worse vs jaws, but it also means that normal height characters basically don't have to adjust their vertical aim at all/only a slight bit downwards in order to be aimed square at your headjaws IS an unfair advantage though, but only slightly

>>743296675This thread reminded me of one of my favorite splitscreen party games, Screencheat. It's a pretty standard multiplayer FPS except player models are all invisible. The only way to shoot the other players is by looking at their screens. There's a bunch of mini games (my favorite is the one where each player has to hunt down and kill the three other players in a specific, randomized order. The first to complete their kill list wins), and the weapons are all fun to use. A+ game to have in your library, and it's regularly on sale for dirt cheap.
