Liked Alan Wake, Max Payne, Control. Did not care for this game at all. Tried a few times to get through it and it's just so dull.

Felt the same, forced myself a second try. Made it through, and came to the conclusion "This would be a good game if there was more game". Thankfully so did Remedy because they never did it again.

The cutscenes on the PC version are streaming only for some reason. There's also 2 different PC versions, the Steam version is DirectX 11 while the Microsoft Store/Xbox PC version is DX12.
The only way to not stream the cutscenes is by downloading an optional add-on exclusive to the Xbox One version. It also doubles the size of the game, to a total around 150 gigabytes. God knows why they never made it even an option on the PC.
This is one of those weird edge cases that SKG never had an answer for in regards to online features in games.
