Why didn't Battlefield, Halo, or COD ever attempt MMOFPS?
>>

Because that would be ambitious, ambitious means risky, risky means potentially losing money, and losing money is just no good.

It could be a single mode in the game and still cater to the faggots who wanna play 6v6 slop. It doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing thing.

Extra game mode means more time on development, more time on development means more money being spent, more money being spent is just no good.

I think battefleid should do it, it's the love service they want
It would probably be atrocious in many ways sadly

Even if its bad at least they can honestly say they did something new with the franchise instead of asking $70 for the same shit they've been doing forever or chasing a retarded trend like BR or Extraction Shooters.

because planetside2 was shit
>heres a map for 500000 people
>theres only 500 players
it was shit
just like battlefield
>here's a map for 1000 players
>here's 128

it never took off but maybe because crossplay was not a thing

I played the beta and there was thousands of players in battles and it was awesome. Explosions were nonstop, dozens of tanks and sunderers in huge convoys, aircrafts looked like a swarm of flies. God damn it was awesome. After a while, players just kind of shrugged and left. The real problem with a game was that there was nothing else to do besides shoot men and get higher rank, but that process was super slow. It's much better now that there's different stuff to do and getting rank is much easier, but those updates came out years after most players left, and they just never got more.
I definitely would like to see more games like it, but that's a very ambitious thing and no one wants to do it.
