Back when I first played it, when I noticed these visual changes, I assumed that it must have something to do with the endings, following the point of her absorbing corruption, and tried my hardest to avoid killing enemies whenever possible for a good portion of the game. Was both relieved and disappointed when I learned it's only cosmetic.

>>743309494Purely gameplay wise the sequel was better. The atmosphere was worse though since while the setting was gloomy, it wasn’t full despair since there were other people around for Lilac to interact with. Not to mention the homunculi themselves as well. Lily had basically ghost remnants and the knight, with the knight being the only actual “living” being. Honestly looking at her in Magnolia, it’s amazing she turned out as well as she did. Knight good job.
