Anyway, Gaster labels the cats as friends because they are his thugs going out and cuasing shit like hunting Spamton and allowing them to give (you) shadow crystals and these will give you some amount of power after Seam gives it to you.Seam could be for or against Gaster. I would hazard to guess ERAM is a friend of Gaster or an item given sentience like a living shadow crystal. Perhaps nightmares are synonymous with broken dreams and ERAM is a nightmare that allows Kris to be covered in the same darkness that Knight and Gaster could be covered in.This all I think are pointing towards just being foreshadowing that we cannot pierce with our intellect to discern what happens next. But, I'll lean towards Deltarune's world being a game that Gaster can save and load over with multiple routes and decisions that he tests and experiments with. The town being one big game to him and the chapter 3 section being another of his where he wants to see how they react as if they were in his position or just thematically as part of the story.This would mean WR and Susie on both routes are what he wants to prevent but also he wants to see more of as it is interesting. Some order and yet some chaos. So he will probably be confronted and I think he will lay this all out and the knight is probably in league with him but fighting him like Darth Vader and TheEmperor. It seems conservative and boring but I dunno, fron what we have that is what I imagine how it will go down.
