The main issue with CB is that neither Capcom development team can decide how the players should play the weapon. This leads to players having to switch playstyles every game, or even have to learn a new one altogether. Capcom should just make every playstyle viable at this point. Yes, including 4U impact AED. It’s funny how Charge Blade is at its strongest and most fun ever in fucking NOW (the mobile game). You load up on skills like Headstrong (which give you a massive damage boost if you don’t dodge for a few seconds) and then go ham on guard points and morph attacks. Simplifying it unironically makes it a better weapon, and they should have taken notes from MHN when they made Wilds.

Valor LS does basically everything the CB does except 10X better. GU CB doesn't even reward you for being good at guard points because almost all of the actual hard monsters will stagger you for it and give you no follow up. The damage isn't that good either, you're pretty much forced to run striker style for the 20% extra damage on shield charge otherwise every fight feels like it takes way longer than it needs to.

SnS probably has the easiest time getting a perfect guard out of any weapon. Also the shield is great for dealing blunt/KO damage as a regular attack. It doesn't need to be guarding constantly because it's mobile enough to dodge.
