Why do people talk about this all the time but they never actually use it and just buy stuff on Steam?

Cuz I can buy games on Steam and crack them so I have DRM-free backups, but still own them on Steam with all the benefits that entails. Only games worth buying off GOG are the games in their preservation program they fix up.

Steam has features I actually use with the overlay, friends, library, mods, discussions, news, etc. Yes I actually use them, all of them. I even use the bets feature calendar because I enjoy little things like that. Steam can install my games from my phone when I'm away, has a buyer only review system, is fully transparent, good refund system, and genuinely the most consumer friendly in the entire industry. No that doesn't mean a corpo is your friend, but they're still leagues better than all competition combined.
