and did your grandma make a hearty soup for you?a gravy perhaps?
>>
Yea I hate my grandma she was a total cuntbag and lied/manipualted me as a kid, used me and my sister for money then threw us out at 18, but she made really good Crab soup, Broccoli and cheese soup, and beef stew with butter bread on the side.
>>
>>743330642
grandma's are supposed to use their grandchildren in moneymaking schemes
>>
>>743330363
My grandma died when I was 2
>>
>>743330363
my grandma used to make cheese toast for me and my sister and I've never been able to replicate the taste. even using the same ingredients and it makes me sad
>>
>>743330642
thats horrible and honestly makes me really grateful for my grandmother. i actually feel like a scumbag now for ever calling her for money. i needa get a job fuck. yeah my grandparents never did anything like that, theyve always been pretty helpful when i needed a place to stay or money or something, and i have a lot of really good memories with them

>but she made really good Crab soup, Broccoli and cheese soup, and beef stew with butter bread on the side.
thats pretty awesome tho
>>
>>743330363
yes, we just called it "grandma soup"
I'm sure it has a proper name, it's got big long thick flat noodles and the broth is completely opaque

>I'm sure it has a proper name, it's got big long thick flat noodles
oh bro i know exactly what kind of noodles you're talking about
>>
why is it yellow...?
>>
>>743330363
My grandmother wasn't a very good cook, though I remember her scrambled eggs with chunks of hotdogs fondly.
>>
I miss her so much, she was racist and mean to others but she was always nice to me, she raised me and when she died I lost every single reason to go back to my hometown.

One was an alcoholic and missed every Christmas, the other was a loving nonna who made the best pasta sauce. Fun times.
>>
>>743330363
She didn't make soup, but she made pancakes.
>>
>>743330363
one of the many problems the game has
>>
>>743330363
My grandma makes a soup we call "ranger soup", with ground beef, macaroni, onions, carrots, tomatoes, and corn in a beef tomato broth. She still makes it when I visit her.
>>
>>743330363
My grandma made the best porridge.
>>
>>743330363
cute fact. grandma's soup is the only elixir link drinks without a disgusted face
>>
much love for all grandmothers mentioned in this thread
ty for responding and have a great day
>>
>>743336703
thats funny. i thought i noticed that, but wasnt sure
>>
I'd kill to try my grandma's food just once again
>>
>>743330363
I always thought it was chicken because of the color.
>>
>>743330363
chicken noodle soup on a cold day while you're sick is the closest you can get to a real life health potion
>>
>>743330363
I think I still have the note she wrote to me before she died.
>>
>>743334581
Probably chicken or seagull flavored
>>
>>743334916
Sounds good.

Not my grandma, but my great aunt made the most unbelievably delicious Sunday gravy in the fucking world. It was one of those family recipes that she ended up giving to my mom, who never got it right because she always rushed it and used shitty substandard ingredients - still tasty, but a pale imitation of the real thing. I have the recipe now, but the tweaks my great aunt made to the recipe are not written down anywhere so even though I can make a killer Sunday gravy now, it still pales in comparison to hers.
>>
>>743340651
my grandmother made the best gravy. ive tried as an adult to mimic it or perfect it. i think ive gotten pretty close, but still i dont have it all right i dont think. grandmother's just do it better
>>
>>743330363
My grandma makes several kinds of soups, they tend to be pretty simple, usually some vegetables and some meat, but man if she doesn't make them all incredibly delicious every time.
>>
To be fair it's meant to be a cool reward for figuring out a secret. I would never have figured out "use a fairy in a bottle to cure your grandma" in the first place.
>>
>>743343087
but whenyou go back to outset island, the only person with directional dialogue for you specifically says how a fairy is the only thing he can think of that could cure your grandma. also, he gives directions for how to find a fairy fountain on the island. as a kid though, fair, i didnt catch it first time.

My granma lived with us until I was in high school. Vividly rember her making after-school food for me and my sister. She burned hotdogs (by boiling them, I still don't know how), toast, bagels... basically anything she made. She's been dead over 22 years now. I still burn popcorn every now and again and fucking love it.
Miss you gram.

>I still burn popcorn every now and again and fucking love it.
thats awesome and im glad you were able to form such good memories around something so mundane.
>>
>>743330363
Storytelling over gameplay, granny is supposed to be a comforting, loving presence so they have her give you an item thatmakes pretty much every other potion in the game obsolete FOR FREE.
>>
>>743347807
>so they have her give you an item thatmakes pretty much every other potion in the game obsolete FOR FREE.
>but, you have to go to outset island to get it, can only carry 1, and theres basically no other reason to go to outset island. also traveling in this game takes time so you dont go to outset island very often

My dad's grandma used to make these kickass cookies and they looked over the recipe and couldn't replicate it
Eventually found out she used crisco instead of butter
So I made some sugar cookies like that and they ended up being shortbreads
