>What do they eat?

Megaton's diet is a mix of scavenged pre-war food, hunted wasteland meat, and imported goods from caravans. Since the town has no visible farmland, most fresh food comes from trade with settlements like Rivet City or from hunters returning with game.

Preserved foods would be staples. Residents regularly eat canned pork and beans, Cram, InstaMash, Sugar Bombs, Salisbury steak, and other packaged foods scavenged from the ruins of Washington, D.C. While often centuries old, these foods remain edible in Fallout's setting.

Fresh protein comes mainly from brahmin, mole rats, and mirelurks. Brahmin are usually kept alive for milk and hauling, so their meat is probably reserved for older animals or special occasions. Mole rat meat is cheap and common, while mirelurk is more expensive because it's dangerous to harvest.

Caravan traders also bring mutfruit, dried foods, alcohol, and occasional fresh vegetables. Megaton's access to relatively clean water, thanks to Walter's purification system, allows residents to cook soups, stews, and boiled meats rather than relying entirely on preserved rations.

Moriarty's Saloon likely serves simple hot meals such as brahmin stew, roasted mole rat, canned beans, or mirelurk cakes alongside beer, whiskey, and Nuka-Cola. Wealthier citizens can afford more imported food, while poorer residents rely heavily on scavenged goods and inexpensive meat.

Overall, Megaton's cuisine reflects the realities of the Capital Wasteland: practical, filling, and built around whatever can be scavenged, hunted, traded, or preserved. Survival matters more than variety, and every meal is a reminder that the old world is gone.

And just where is Rivet City's "visible farmland"?

I firmly believe Bethesda games are impossible to balance without making it retardedly aggravating
>>
>>743332814
play the game. they have a lab where they grow fresh food
>>743332931
I think the best balance is an all around damage multiplier. you take 2-3x damage, but also deal 2x damage. makes everything a bit more interesting imo

How big of an output could a room on a ship have? Rivet City has mouths of their own to feed.
