Age of Pirates / Sea Dog series.I hear there's a few community projects to revive the games, and expand upon them. We are missing a good modern one.Problem is that all that makes pirate games good as a setting are "problematic" today, so devs cuck out of it.You need the tits, the sexy clothing, the edginess, the rogue behaviour, the alcohol, drugs, sex, slavery, and heavy intrigue and corruption because of course.So basically 80's it. Would love a dark and gritty fantasy setting solely set around that.

Sly 3 turned into a really fun pirate game at the end of it, it almost felt like they realized they could've made the whole game centered around sailing a pirate ship as the gang.
