Here lies Sonia's hopes and dreams. Also 64/LoD remake/port/whatever the fuck never ever. Also also Legends is NOT worse than Adventure what the fuck are you dumbasses talking about.
Only Sonia fuckers care about Legends.Same applies to Shanoa fuckers.
>>743333952My theory is that Rose's full name will be Rose of Sonia Belmont or something similar, with Sonia in there somewhere. Their designs are just so similar, with shared elements.
What's the best way to start playing Castlevania and Metroid? I've only played the indie games they were based on, including Bloodstained, but not the OGs. Also, I tried Curse of the Moon and got filtered cause it was too hard for me.
>>743337363I would say Rondo of Blood and then Symphony of the Night are probably the best way to get a vertical slice of the series. Rondo being a linear "Classicvania" while SOTN is a Metroidvania. As for Metroid itself I guess you could start with Zero Mission or Super Metroid.
>>743337103At this point Im just convinced that Rose replaced Sonia in the canon timeline, their designs being so similar hammering that down for me, this was Sonias one chance, and now that its gone shell remain out forever.>>743337363Symphony of the Night and Super Castlevania 4, Super is the easiest classicvania, it doesnt get bullshity until the last 10 minutes of the game.
>>743337363SotN is probably your best bet for Castlevania, it's a good mix of classic bullshit and modern bullshit and a ton of later games are built off references to it so without that foundation there's things that will seem completely unjustified. For Metroid, probably Super Metroid for similar reasons though the movement in that game takes some serious getting used to even though I love it now that I understand it. If that's frustrating you then your best bet is probably Zero Mission, or Metroid Dread if you've already got a switch.
>>743338417>a ton of later games are built off references to itThat's a dumb thing to say because SotN is mostly built off of references to 1 and 3.If you're not gonna half-ass the series then ideally the NES games are the ones you start with.
>>743338627Yeah, and Super Metroid is full of references to Metroid. You've gotta start somewhere but the early entries of both series don't necessarily align with what the games turned into or the elements commonly thought of in the indie metroidvania space. If someone's just looking to dabble and understand why people give a shit the originals don't give the most holistic picture even if it's a better foundation for understanding things as a whole.
