Was Diablo 2 a gacha?
>>
were you?
>>
>>743337471
I can't buy items off blizzard store so no. Optional p2w pages are optional and only faggots use fag gold.
D2 is slot machine were you invest time, strangely enough you can sometimes win big and get paid in actual money (asians/mutts have no shame).

The fact that Blizzard couldn't extract money (nor thought about doing it at the time), doesn't mean the game didn't have gacha mechanics.
It had the entertaining gambling parts of it, without the monetization.
>>
No, I could buy an engina, 2 sojs, and a heart of the oak outright

BFR is known to have been involved with RMT so you're delusional if you think he didn't print shekels for Israelis at the height of D2's popularity.

You are changing the definition of Gacha though. Gacha is not random item drop. Gacha is something you BUY with real money that has random item drop. It literally came from those gacha balls vending machines

>It had the entertaining gambling parts of it, without the monetization.
this kind of mechanic is one of my favorites in gaming. i know it's not real and it's just parlor trick to squeeze dopamine out of me; it works and that's what really counts. as soon as monetization (cosmetics excluded) is added the feeling is gone and the game has been corrupted into something else. i value my free time as a gamer way more than money, being able to buy my way up cheapens the experience.

No, but the elements of d2's itemization could be say to have an equally addictive quality to gatcha. You never know what your next big drop will be. A perfectly rolled unique? A skiller for a popular class? Maybe a high rune from your next pit run? A god-tier helmet or amulet? Maybe something for the low level pvp community?
That shit was addictive. Rolling the dice each run.

That's the "gacha gacha pon" part of it, the real money cost is just the vending machine aspect.
You still had to spend in game money on the scrolls and do the whole theatre of identifying items.

remember when cain says
>Let this be a lesson to you.. Demonic magic is a quick path, but its powers are seductive and deadly
why the fuck did Blizzard make a summoner class if they're gonna lose their fucking minds and kill everyone
>>
>>743337471
No but it is the most overrated game ever created, I actually prefer to play 3 over 2, at least that I only have to play for one or two days to get all the seasonal rewards and then uninstall until the next
Literally what do you even get for doing ladder in 2?
>>
>>743339157
>I actually prefer to play 3 over 2
stopped reading there.
>>
>>743339157
2 and 3 are basically different games entirely.
What you hate is what d2 fans love. And what you love is what d2 fans hate.
It is what it is. Just play what you want and have fun.
>>
>>743337471
No.
Next question.
>>
>>743339120
Because it's interesting?
>>
>>743339120
Warrior, Rogue, and Sorcerer lost their minds and started killing people without using demon magic, so you might as well just use it if the end result is the same.

Nigga you unlock Cain in act 1

The items are already predetermined when it dropped not when it got identified so there is no gacha element to it. People who have used Atma to manage their loot have known this.
>>
>>743337471
Yes, for your weird and essentially incorrect definition of gacha.
>>
>>743337471
I masturbate to my drops, yes
>>
>>743339453
a lot of retards have never played through the acts normally and only ever get rushed so they skip out on getting cain cause he gets saved regardless. he only does it for free if you do the quest
anyways that nigger isn't the former, he's just shitposting for (You)s
>>
>played for 25 years
>never finished nightmare
>never played in hell
>never had a high rune
>never gotten an elite unique
>never had a single piece of an end game set
>never had an annihilus
>never seen ubers
I don't know.
>>
>>743339353
the Warrior shoved a fucking soulstone in his head.
the Rogue got corrupted by Andariel.
the Sorcerer studied the dark arts/demonology and Horazon and ended up corrupted.

I am eternally thankful to Providence for D2 burning me out on gacha bullshit before publishers figured out that they could monetize it.
