My gpu is bad for it. I have nvidia driver 535 installed. I updated it to nvidia driver 580 but it fucked up my old games on steam. Then I switched it back to 535 and they worked under proton but were very slowly. I had to delete and reinstall linux mint to fix the problem. I stay at nvidia driver 535 which is also my recommended. I guess I have to buy a better gpu.
