What filtered you? The fact that you actually have to git gud and can't facetank every boss like the rest of the franchise?
>>
You can literally facetank everything though and the game encourages it with elves and subs
>>
>>743346824
Leveling up to get your full moveset. It's mind boggling that they kept it in 2.
>>
>>743346974
>and the game encourages it with elves
They actually actively discourage it with cyber elves since using them tanks your score. Cyber Elves are meant to be easy mode.
>>
Megaman Starforce trilogy is the only Megaman series I managed to beat. This whole franchise is just too fucking hard.
>>
>>743346974
It's obvious you didn't play the game tranny
>>
>>743346824
You actually can the only hard part of this game is the first 25% then it becomes easy
>>
>>743346974
If you're not aiming for A-rank at minimum, you're playing the game casually.
>>
>>743346824
the sequels of this game are awesome
>>
>>743347104
you did use sword cards and fire on grass stage combos right?
>>
>>743349718
I did. When I said the whole franchise is too hard, I'm not including Starforce, if I did, I wouldn't have finished a single game in that series.
On a side note, fuck Battle Network 1 random encounter rate. I'm not picking it back up until Capcom patch the legacy collection with the option to toggle the encounter rate.
>>
>>743346824
I played it on Switch with built in checkpoints as beat it just like you did. Except I enjoyed the game and didn’t suffer for no reason. Cope.
>>
The small screen space. I remember after Falcon whatshisname you go to a desert area and have barely half a second to react to infinitely re spawning worms that jump out of the sand.
>>
>>743346824
Funny you bring this up. I found out recently some dude is trying to mod MM Zero 3. Looks like he posts updates a few times a year

>>
Eh it gets easy after the first two-three bosses where you start unlocking more of your weapons/moves/elements.
>>
forced cutscenes
>>
>>743346824
it was annoying so I grinded the crystals for like 2 hours, upgraded a few elves and then it became a piece of cake
>>
>>743346824
Trying to S-Rank the boss rush level, if I don't slip up against the first 4 bosses, the combination of Phantom and Copy X usually does me in
>>
tiny gba screen + high speed score attack design + fuck you instant death pits everywhere = horrible game

gunvolt is sick but there's a reason why every memorable/beloved gba game is an rpg or at least a more slow paced action game like castlevania, they should've made this game for literally any system except this one. game desperately needs one of those widescreen hacks 2D sonic got
>>
>>743346824
Yes, having to play every level 100% perfect or no boss weapon just isn't fun for me, so i don't play those games anymore.
turns out there's more to making a fun action game than making it harder than the last one.
>>
>>743346824
I've played these games enough that they're piss easy. Still the gameplay is objectively flawed, particularly in the first game.

>>743358196
there's a basic romhack for the DS port that expands the screen but it's glitchy

the leveling system and the fact that the game only has like 5 levels it keeps recycling
It's funny how they took most people's favourite additions the X series made, upgrades, and abstracted them into elfs, which them them completely unsatisfying to get.
Think about it, X games: you find an upgrade, you pick it up, you get stronger
Zero: You find an elf box, you open it, you have no idea what you just got, you check the elf screen, it's likely a throwaway consumable, if it a permanent upgrade you have to spend crystals in it, meaning you likely have to grind and then to top it off the game punishes you for using them with its scoring system. I bet most people don't even realize how easy the game is with elf upgrades.
The Zero games were nothing if not experimental
>>
>>743346974
if you grind out your ass like a faggot which everyone agrees is boring like it should be
>>
>>743346824
Getting new special abilities being tied to your average score makes casual (re)plays more tedious than they have to be. It's still one of my top 3 series of all time, but that's more or less why I haven't replayed the games except for 4 because of its weather system since I finished my max score runs a decade ago.
>>
>>743346824
just grind out the charged slash at the beginning and the whole game
becomes a cakewalk. okay not really, you still have to memorize the level layouts and the harder bosses might still take a few tries but man the charged slash is strong to the point that it's not worth doing any other attack
>>
>>743361369
I'm a total casual who doesn't both with combos on bosses so the somewhat niche ex moves are a complete luxury
>>
>>743346824
My autism made the game unenjoyable. I refused any rating below S-rank which means I was blitzing through every level as quickly as I could instead of exploring and enjoying things.
>>
>>743361396
combine it with the elemental chips and it gets silly
>>
I'll always be bitter about Gunvolt being shit. Firing a couple of bullets and then standing still for a few seconds will never be anywhere near as satisfying as slashing shit up, and Inti in general have clearly lost their touch regardless of that.
>>
>>743346824
am I the only one here that loved ZX/Advent?
>>
>>743346824
I need to replay this game I don't think I understood it at all the first time just kind of brute forced my way through somehow until I gave up
>>
>>743361449
there's no reason to explore besides finding elves and your grade drops for using them, so you were playing the intended way
>>
I finished Mega Man X8. does the level design get better in Zero/ZX games?
>>
>>743346824
The fact that the elves died if I used them
>>
>>743361660
a bit but really its the core mechanics and bosses that get better
Z1 is kind of jank, Z2 and Z3 get better and better then Z4 is kind of weird but good
ZX games are their own beast
>>
>>743361904
I liked ZX
>>
>Get penalized for using upgrades
Inti should've gone bankrupt long ago
>>
>>743346824
I didn't get filtered, I finished the whole series already.

This is correct and it pisses off Zerospics that their meme games aren't even difficult to anybody that isn't a performative vtuber.
>>
do you really need Ex-Skills in any game? They don't prevent you from getting any upgrades. if you're good enough to go on without elves, you don't need EX-skills unless you are some weird "must SSS rank every mission" nutty putty.
>>
>>743366309
>do you really need Ex-Skills in any game?
no but they're fun, I would always recommend getting them, they're pretty easy to get anyway, I'm sure that the people who complain about it never even bothered to try
>>
the strategy back in the days was to always before a mission and read the guide for everything you can get in that mission. Don't save after defeating the boss unless you're happy with your rank and everything you got.
>>
The screen resolution is too small and the game looks like shit while full-screened on my emulator.
>>
the levels are designed around a small screen... when do you ever need to see "more"?
>>
>>743360687
>still need to explore to find elves
>but now you need to farm crystals to use them
>and the game penalises you by locking enemy skills (another Mega Man staple) away because you used them
What were they thinking?
>>
>>743346824
I didn't like that I could see so little of the area around the player character
>>
>>743368073
Eh, the factory in zero 1 and the volcano base in zero 3 don't really feel like they were designed around the screen size. A lot of the moving platforms in those stages only become visible a fraction of a second before you need to use them.
>>
>>743361660
Better than X8 by virtue of having less gimmicks, but it doesn't reach the peaks of the X series.
ZX is a metroidvania-styled map with linear missions. It's ok.
>>
>>743361660
X8 level design is pretty poor. The Zero/ZX games are more consistent about good level design than the X series, which isn't saying much, but it's something.
>>
I refuse to play Primrose's stage to get Zero's fan weapon.
>>
>>743346824
It was boring
>>
>>743368281
you can just use the wallslide to scroll the camera down and check the positions of the platforms, same as in any x game where you wallside instead of making a blind jump
>>
>>743360687
>Think about it, X games: you find an upgrade, you pick it up, you get stronger
Ironically they already fucked that up in the later X games where you can't use the armor pieces you find until you have all of them
>>
Sigma wants Zero to remember that Iris' last words were her saying she wishes for a world where only one group of people is allowed to exist. I'm going to Costco do you guys want anything?

You have to wallslide dangerously low in the factory stage to be able to see the platforms. As for the volcano base stage, the issue there is that the platforms are sinking and you need to reach the next block before you can see the next+1. In both cases most of the difficulty would disappear if the screen were a little larger.
This doesn't happen with the disappearing blocks in classic, for example.
>>
>>743346824
the fact the camera is so zoomed in I can't tell when there is a hole or not

which game humiliates Copy X the most?
>>
>>743371995
zero 3 easily. zero 2 also kinda humiliates x with the whole elpizo bullshit
>>
Not being able to redo levels and get A rank after. Gay shit. Making certain moves locked behind rank. Gay shit. Punishing you for using elves. Gay shit.
>>
think of Elves like Items in a RPG. you'd only use them if you were struggling so it makes sense you would get a bad GRADE.
>>
I FUCKING THE ZERO AND ZX series ! FUCK THESE MISSIONS! FUCK RANKS! Just let me a robot destroying other robots!
>>
It is not enough for shitters to be bad at the game yet still be able to complete it, they demand that nobody be good at it either.
>>
I'm allowed to trashtalk games I actually finished. I do not like : X7, DMC2, or Dawn Of the New World.
>>
I think the X games after 4 are that bad, except for 7 because it is such a huge set back. They were trying something new when the franchise was heavily criticized for being the same game every year.
>>
I beat this videogame but had trouble with last boss. After observing walkthroughs I made it, felt pretty good i admit. Its a quality videogame i think.
