>>743347468I love this thing but fuck if I didn't buy seven of them for them to all break.
The only controller I've ever had start having problems is the DS4, which is also the only newish controller I've ever tried.
I like how every single dualshock 3 on earth is either broken or one of the chink bootlegs with identical serial numbers
>>743347468dualsense breaks just by looking at it
>>743347468n64 joystick broke me
>>743347494kek same. luv me ds3. i still have the remnants of my old controllers laying in a cabinet somewhere.
>>743347468you posted it
>>743347468The xbox elite 2, if you have one of those that lasted more than 3 months I don't believe you.
>>743347791I got enough parts to maybe rebuild one working DS3.
>>743347468I played my PS3 a shit ton and all of the controllers still work fine. In fact I am playing PS3 right now with a new PS3 I bought last year and am still using my same launch controller
>>743347873I have my original ds3 and its like new, was just playing san andreas on the ps2 with it
Early DS3 have hall effects sticks. GOAT controller
>>743347468Pic unrelated? The ones from 2009 I have still work just fine
>>743347898You're lucky, all mine either gave me stick drift or battery issues.
I can only imagine the type of goblin you must be to break a PS3 controller. Their only real flaw they have is the disgusting oily coating they get from the rubber breaking down if you don't use them for a while.
>>743347468How rough are you with that?
>>743347468the only problem i have with my ps3 controllers is the foam shit inside of it wearing down, causing the contacts to spazz out and do random inputs. literally all 4 of them did it. i fixed it by putting in some paper or whatever years ago
>>743347468>sticks drifts after 3 months Fuck sony.
>>743347904No this is the goat controller, specifically this variant with the matte case and the chonky edged dpad. Best dpad ever.I have one, its 30 years old and it still works perfectly. Most comfortable controller ever.
>>743347983>that shitty dpad>3 buttonstrash
>>743347898very nice. the last time i had my PS3 things, i wasn't wise and aged enough to appreciate the value in it. well, there's always emulation, but the experience(TM) is lost, as you probably know.
>tfw playing mgs4 with the newly released dualshock 3what a great summer 2008 was
>>743348021I still have my ps3 as well, checha01 with the EE and it still works.I have to give it a tear down and re-paste though, so I don't use it, don't want to suicide it.
While we are on the topic of PlayStation controllers, THIS right here is the first thing that Sony has done to affect ME personally.I wanted this premium arcade stick and an adapter for my Switch 2.
Anecdotally I never had any DS3 problems during the PS3s lifespan, but something fishy is going on with them now. Either they all broke between 2014 and now or the market was flooded so bad that they just seem that way. I have two gently used DualSense controllers with drift, one of which is completely unusable. I think I sent three separate pairs of joycons in for repair over the lifetime of the Switch 1. They saw heavy use, for sure, but I can hardly think of controllers going bad outside of that. My DS4s served very long and busy lives as PS4 pads and have been flawless in their afterlife as PC pads. They have been seriously reliable for me.
genuinely never remember having problems with any console controller until the dualsense and joycons started drifting after a few months
>>743348019That d-pad is amazingIts not the membrane only one some variants had. It feels better than any modern dpad
bought a dualsense for PC 6 months ago and it doesn't even turn on anymore
>>743347468
>>743347468DS3 wins. Shit was hilariously fragile
>>743348217I only use PS dpads for 2D/top-down games. I've tried many others and they just don't feel right. They have the perfect balance between looseness but with minimal erroneous directions
>>743348387Or you're just a fucking retard who can't take care of your stuff? Or you bought some shitty bootleg? There are tons of people ITT that have had all their controllers working fine for decades>>743348170tons of people buy fakes because they look identical to the real thing but the build quality is trash. If you have original controllers you bought from that era, they hold up great.
>>743348302I hope the FlexStrike is better.I'm going to be using that for SNES emulation, SNES NSO, Star Fox 2026, Smash Ultimate, Smash Switch 2, Mario Kart World, and other games.
>>743348170The retro fighters defender pro is coming any time now, it has the goofy pressure sensing face buttons for the games that need it and hall effect sticks
>>743347983Sega was really good at making controllers that look weird but are actually really comfy and work really wellI could never get into the post-Saturn versions of Nights because they just didn't feel as good to play without the UFO
>>743348140>an adapterwhy the fuck would you want to add delay, get something that works natively
>>743347468Yeah that's it.>flimsy plastic that breaks by just touching it>opening it up will surely break something because of that>sony used some cheap ass rubber pad that pushes the contact plastic against the PCB and the thing for some reason gets smaller through the years, making you get random inputs>dog nose analog sticks that get all sticky if you leave your controller in a drawer for just a week
>>743348392Some genesis controllers like the one pictured had a goofy setup where the membrane is on the back side of the pcb and there's this plastic mushroom stick thing that actuates them, so it has a little bit more leverage and travel and it feels great.Others have a direct press membrane with short travel and are not as pleasant.
>>743348525I don't think that the Magic-S Pro 2 results in input delay.
>>743347941I had a friend way back in middle school who managed to snap one clean in half in a split-second fit of rage when he died at ~20/25 kills for a tactical nuke in MW2. Always kind of thought that was nutcase behavior but when I actually bought a PS3 years later I realized how easy it was for him to do that and constantly worried about it shattering if I even dropped it on the hardwood floor.
>>743348551Mine was in storage for probably over 10 years and is like new.But boy were those sticks ever sticky, not sure what bleeds out of them, but car detailing solution removed it well.
This is actually the only controller I've somewhat unintentionally "smashed in rage". I was aiming for the couch, and it hit the couch, but I didn't account for the bounce back. Didn't know it trampolined like that. Hit the edge of the coffee table and the right top just shattered. R button fell out and everything.
>>743348848I believe you.I have plenty of controllers that I take good care of.I am excited to use all of them with my Switch 2.When I get home from my trip later this month, I will open my new GameCube controller that I will use with my Switch 2, my Legion Go 1 and my Razer Blade 14.
Why are you all 3rd worlders that bought consoles when they were cost cut to fuck and all the decent factories had moved on to the replacement
>>743347983I like the 3 buttons with the later style d-pad. Great controller, I have two - one of which I modded for master system compatibility. The other I use when I don't feel like using a 6 button.
>>743347983the only controller you need if you don't play shitty fighting games
>>743349512I have an older one with the back pull dpad, and a 94 with the direct top press dpad, sadly the 94 the membrane is worn out and i'm struggling to find a replacement
>>743347983the best thing about this controller was that it was durablemine still works to this day. i had it for 25+ yearswhile all my six button sega controllers have stopped working
i actually appreciate the 3 button sega genesis controller nowthe six button controller was for faggots who liked fighting games like mortal kombat and street fighter 2
>>743350430And sore thumbs. The 6 button was uncomfortable as fuck
