It seemed interesting on the surface. After City of Heroes got forceclosed, a lot of players jumped to secret world. I did too, but fuck, actually playing it just wouldn't click for me.
It didn't help that zombieshit was still mainstream, I fucking can't stand zombieshit, and the very first area in this game was zombieshit.

Honestly anon, Funcom is just chronically retarded and there is simply no helping it. TSW along with all their other games, never stood a chance.
Their latest big game, Dune Awakening, was killed because they tried to turn their strictly PvE playerbase into PvP fodder - Something that ended up killing the first MMORPG ever made, Ultima Online.

All these years and Funcom still makes these absolute rookie mistakes that kill games off, quickly. And because they're so profoundly stupid, I will never touch their products. I'm not even a scorned Dune player, I just love observing their eternal quest to step on rakes over and over again.

I fell for the dune meme as well. It was a great game, but something in my soul shattered when I was chased across the deep desert by some faggot with rocket pods.

I fired it up just last week in a fit of nostalgia (probably induced by watching Widow's Bay) but ended up uninstalling it after doing two quests.

Everything about the game at the time was so good but now I just wish they would re-use the setting for something at all.
