They combined all kinds of shit that make no sense, I tried playing sion, I couldn't do the Q W combo because the W now has a 3 second delay for some reason when reactivating so the shield would get destroyed by the time I could reactivate, I don't know what beta version had it like that but it wasn't like that when I played since 2010, but even if I could combo it wouldn't matter because the scalings were fucked and I did no damage.
If things weren't bad enough the stats are random I had 370ms on sion against a gp with 430ms, literally impossible to ever catch up to him ever, that's not how it worked back in the day.
And for the final piece of shit on this shitcake of a game, sion was using the new model and you had to pay to unlock the original model............

Besides that all kinds of bugs like the minions are worse than in private servers, this "mode" was vibe coded in a week for sure, no doubt about it.
And it's beyond ugly too.

The LoL patch they used for classic was the itemization patch that was the first step to modern league. As somone who actually played back in season 1-2 and still plays a league game every now and then, i lost interest when i looked into classic to see what patch it was.

I could play shen top and just farm under tower with q if I got my shit pushed in. If I got smacked around mid as viktor, I just spent 1000g on laser beam upgrade and can still clear waves. With ryze, if I can put the mouse over a champ, my q would hit. They were better for bad players, dudes with senior citizen reflexes and for playing overseas. What killed league was koreans. Zed on release was straight up overpowered and braindead. Faker, a gook league pro, played this busted champ in the pro scene and made "epic plays" by doing Zed's 50 broken dashes and one-shotting people, which permanently deviated league's gameplay design from warcraft 3/DOTA style towards flashy dogshit for autistic retards. The fact that they were comfortable adulterating the "classic" content with modern shit is even more an indication of who their target audience is, they're probably even counting on the fact that many people who are playing it weren't even there for the original league gameplay anyway.

Well, my personal opinion is that they're just throwing it at the wall and seeing what sticks. In previous years they said they would NEVER make permanent "for fun" game modes because they didn't want to split the queues and return on investment for the modes have been minimal. But then they had massive success with Arena, and made it permanent. Then they had massive success with ARAM Mayhem, and made it permanent. I think they've become a lot more open to experimentation thanks to that. If it doesn't work they'll close it down and say "You didn't even want classic anyway apparently!" If it does work they'll continue to iterate on it, but probably never make it a true representation of "classic" league because their bastard version was "successful." That is what I think will happen based on my 15 years of observing this company and loving the game for better or worse.

The problem is, and this is what I've been getting at in my posts - the people who played OG league and stopped playing after the 2014 updates are both old as fuck now and are totally disconnected from their current audience. Of those that are still gamers, how many would be willing to get back into league? Of those that would be willing to get back into league, how many would spend money on a classic mode?
