Up Your Arsenal finally made the series playable by giving it (still crude by today's standards) twin stick controls. I bought A Rift Apart on the Steam sale and really enjoyed it, and then made the mistake of jumping all the way back to the original R&C with the intention of playing through all of them, and that was a mistake. That was such a case of whiplash.
