It's to force cloudgaming onto people.
Even Windows doesn't allow you to update unless you meet specific hardware requirements.
What can we do to stop evil from totalling controlling/enslaving us?
>>
>>743364052
Is it? Very easy to build a collection of hundreds of games across gog, steam, epic from freebies and sales. Many cheap retro handhelds or a PSP for under $100. Just don't buy the latest poorly optimised AAA slop that is designed to force you to buy more hardware

I only buy 2nd hand hardware. I haven't bought a game in decades, it must be cracked or f2p or it isn't on my radar. Basically what I'm saying is, gayming is cheap.

Nuke america. But seriously I have no idea how you'd unfuck America's politics, a starting point would be introducing a single transferrable vote system so new parties stand a chance at existing, but there'd be so much fucking kvetching from both established parties over the mere suggestion it'd never go through

>Coworker wants to get back into gaming again after 10 years of not touching it
>Asks me since I'm the "gaming" guy at work
>Ask him what he wants to play
>"IDK, what I used to play I guess? Maybe something newer?"
>Ask him if he gives a single shit about GTA 6 or any other new title
>"Not really"
>Ask him for a budget
>"I don't want to spend more than like 600 bucks upfront for any of this stuff, I just want to try it out"
>Tell him that he's just going to regret not actually putting in any research into the topic but whatever, I'll find something for him
>Dude used to play exclusively on Xbox 360/One and mostly just CoD, Fifa, Battlefield and Forza
>Find an old office PC with 16 gigs of DDR4 ram, a SATA 512gig SSD and an i7-9700 in it for 230 bucks with a wireless mouse+keyboard combo included
>Find a lightly abused RX 7800 XT for 320
>He gives me 600 for sourcing and putting it all together for him
>Shove a pirated copy of W10 on it
>I spend an afternoon just dumping some gems from my EMU library and a few older pirated PC games on it
>Spend a few hours trying to set everything up to be as retard proof as possible by using Steam Big Picture as a hub for everything including setting up a Steam account for him
>Gave it to him a month ago and he has been more than happy with it so far after I got his old Xbox controller working on it

Gaming can be fairly cheap if you just avoid the cutting edge, what I made for him is on the mid-range side but you can easily find other old Office PCs that can play old games and simple indie games right out of the box and that can have pretty much any graphics card from the last 10 years thrown into it for cheap, hell, if you don't give a shit about new games at all then you can just buy one of those cheap(er) chink emulation portables for 100-400 bucks and you can play everything up to simple PC indie games/ps3 games on them as well.

lmao

is not expensive, you can literally have more games that you will ever play in your life with just a normal computer + the Internet

some people are just allergic to anything that isn't a centralized store

I'm still stuck on last gen/xbone
There's several next-gen only games I want to play now. Also Cyberpunk 2077, but I know that has horrendous performance on last gen, so I refuse to touch it until I upgrade.
Although I'm glad I got to play Mount and Blade Bannerlord. It had bad performance, but so did Warband, so I'm used to it.
Also I wish the Total War games would come to console.
