Honestly, I do not get it. I always loved to hang out with older people. It did help me with some self-esteem issues; they also were more kind in general, as there is a bit of a general life outlook that comes with age. Older women also were much kinder when we tried to flirt/pick numbers and so on.
I started working when I was 12, so my whole life I got used to being surrounded by much older people. I don't think I would even want to be surrounded by teens, would feel weird.

It's just weird to tie hobbies to age. My father liked soccer when he was half my age. He liked soccer when he was my age. He likes soccer now that he's twice my age.
