I know gaming press was always untrustworthy, but at least in the early days, people writing for those mags were gamers. I remember when I still used to visit Rock Paper Shotgun from time to time - the layout was pretty comfy, very few adds and Tim Stone had his "serious games" corner, which is why I cared. At some point though, the layout changed, color scheme went violet (what's up with the joker colors in gaming and adjacent media?), they hired a bunch of "women" all of which were name Alice, got rid of Tim Stone and switched the site to be like a mobile add-infested blog page. This was the exact same time, when tubers went from gaming enthusiasts talking about the stuff they liked, to viral "content creators" and blatant shills. It's like overnight, the people who had integrity, got fired and replaced or just bribed across all of media. I'm totally not saying this is a conspiracy.
Same as everywhere else. People wanted to make more money from it, so they lowered standards and increased advertising.
Well it all started when some whore sucked cock for a good review of her gay walking sim and kinda snowballed from there
Game magazines have always been about shilling games, nothing really changed beyond the quality of games and journalists (Read: Shills) deteriorating
raceism is defeat kek
I think a lot of the problems of the worlds can be traced to the people we made fun of networked to hell and back. From making fake degrees and accolades for each other backed by fake research and got jobs in rolls like HR.They went full on soft power and there you go
>>743369487I think it was your fault. Personally. See, I never in my life had this insane idea of wanting to see what some other dude has to say about the game I'm about to play. Like, why would you want that? At best, he spoils the game, at worst, talks you out of a good experience. It's like you enjoy being told what to do.
>>743369487The golems infected it. golems contain nothing but propaganda.
>>743370485It's not like the games marketing isn't also trying to tell you what to do.
>>743369487As someone who read gaming mags in the 90s, and later read things about them and the people who wrote in them some years later, nothing has changed. It was always mostly cunts and the people who were in it for the games would often end up getting kicked out by them because they didn't like scumbag practices.
>>743370485>See, I never in my life had this insane idea of wanting to see what some other dude has to say about the game I'm about to playThat's because you were born after 2000 and as such your IQ is below 100.
>>743370606All I need is a steam page and a list of features >>743370872Wrong on both accounts

>>743371242To determine if I should buy the game or not my friend. Bounce around because the tutorial is hardly going to open your eyes to the gameplay and you want to doge spoilers if you care about the story
