I remember a long, long time ago when WoW was in...I don't remember which expansion actually, but it was pretty deep into the cycle, and they finally announced they were caving and making Classic servers, and I thought that it'd probably be dumb and not very fun because the game is 100% solved and documented and min-maxed, and at most it'll just be people trying to relive the real original content launches by trying to no-life achievements and rewards that they weren't around for or couldn't be bothered with at the time. And that turned out to be 100% true, but I get that people had some fun with that kinda. The thing that was weird to me was when they said they'd be doing "Classic TBC". Because then it was like...ok so is the plan just that "Classic" is actually just "Retail" but perpetually a few versions behind?
