The hate for this game is manufactured by people with NDS. People exaggerated its flaws to the moon and back in an attempt to give the switch 2 a "loss". The character everyone hates only has like 20 mins of screen time and 16 lines of dialog total. Regardless of its faults I'd still say its better then most AAA slop that comes out and I even thought It was better then prime 3.(better shooting, puzzles, secrets, level design and even the desert is better then the spaceship loading screen that separates worlds in MP3)

I can take all the questionable decisions this game made in stride but the one critique that I will not stand by and say can be overlooked is the distinct lack of platforming.

FAR too much of this game is just spent walking around without any need to cross gaps or employing verticality in the level design. That is the core failing of this game to be a quality Metroid game.

I still had fun with it but if anything makes it one of the worst games in the series that would be it.

I boughted the switch 1 version and I will bought the same game with add on included on the switch 2 box

Why would Nintendo DS fans run a smear campaign against prime 4? I mean one of the Hunters characters is the main villain. They would be all for that
>>

>Better shooting
Correct but sadly the game features no interesting enemy (or boss) to shoot at
>Puzzles
They're fine I guess, still puzzles have never been a selling point for Metroid
>Secrets
Nope
>Level design
Hell no, this is just bait at this point
>The empty desert is better than a loading screen
Ok, you're one those who loves wasting time instead of doing actually fun during a playthrough. Play AssCreed games instead

nintendo dual screen fans are toxic

the hate isnt manufactured. anyone with a functioning brain can see that the open world and quippy side characters is fucking retarded. it feels like zelda more than metroid.
>>

The fact you need to compare it to AAA slop is already a giveaway of how bad this game really is
Metroid shouldn't be at the level it has to be compared to AAA slop, it should be compared to actually good games

Don't you get tired of playing victim in regards to anything Switch 2? You can like the system without being insecure about your purchase. It's not "Eric" or "Sony" or "Nintendo derrangement". Some people were just disappointed with the game. That's it.
>>
"Giving Switch 2 a loss" when it's a switch 1 game at heart announced as early as 2017 yeah okay buddy
>>
>>743387442
It's not actually open world. It's just a boring hub area you're forced through when you get an upgrade while the troopers railroad you on where to go next.

Prime 4 is a nightmare because the devs over at Bamco were trying to do Metroid of the Wild. The six shrines in the deserts really prove that more than anything else. Nintendo told Retro to take what was done or practically done and shit out a Prime game so it can just come out. I'm more interested in a Prime 5 since it should be Retro from beginning to end.

Retro hasn't been Retro for like 20 years now, who gives a fuck.

This, it's one of those Ship of Theseus studios. Look at all the outsourcing MP4 needed.

I've beaten this game after waiting since highschool to play it.

It's boring as fuck. I would not recommend it.
The graphics are pretty for a Switch game though

doesn't matter, the fact that Prime 4 got canned and "restarted" across two different companies didn't do the game any favors at all. Making flat judgments on a game that was very much mishandled by one company and then given to another so Nintendo had the product they promised

I’m playing it right now and my opinion is the hate at the NPCs is overblown.
BUT
Any criticism towards its gameplay and lowered score towards that is earned.
Miles Mackenzie is an unnecessary Chatterbox with the obvious ideas and jokes he cracks. But that can be otherwise ignored.
The moment I got to the Desert area however any defense I could give the game died out. It was just a few minutes through that on foot but it was such an obviously bad implementation I could murder someone on the spot.
Then I got to the storm area and that map felt so dry. The aesthetics are on point as an electric city but so far it has just been a chore. Nothing to truly explore or reward, just a one way tower after a one way tower activating generators and fighting the few robots thrown at me.
I do have to admit the Sylux boss fight was quite fun though with him moving around and rushing as if it was Prime 2’s multiplayer and then having the tornado move forcing it in a Morph Ball bomb match.

Also holy sex Samus is super tall

This Vi-O-La scan also was fucking infuriating. I can’t articulate why but saying this factory runs on 3D Printers felt like a mix of retarded, laziness and some stupid idea to win over players.
It loses “magic” putting something like that.
