There's hundreds of timeless classics with only a handful of physical copies in circulation, so their value on the reseller market becomes absurdly inflated beyond reason. Just take a look at this one example (Silent Hill 3). Look at the joker asking for $450, then look below to see its trending price is $549. In the next decade, this game might cost more than a car. Nobody can play this game "legally" anymore without paying these prices. The only way to play this game is to pirate it and play it on an emulator or a hacked PS2.All of this could've been avoided if they just had digital distribution back in the PS2 days. But instead we have remakes. Thank you, physicaltards!
>>743393524Petition companies like Limited Run Games to make repos given they already do it for current Konami releases. Problem solved
even if these games were widely available to play you're still going to have omg the clunkiness retards who will throw money at remakes anyway
>>743393670Fun fact those Limited Run despite being lower quality and newer, almost tend to cost more than their old counterpartI don't know why SH3 selling for this much in burgerland. In europe its selling for 50e, same shit with emerald selling 90e there and in burgerland almost 180e . The same "uk" game cost 90e ....
>it's actually risingholy fuck it's over
>>743394050Euro version is probably shitter even if they're both in English. Also as long cost is below the current price gouging, it means it's a good deal to produce repos
>>743394057The hustle culture dumb rich guys and investor are basically the reason why. Oh also ton of "zoomer" with barely any income that use all their money on this shitThere is no way that the demand keep increasing if everyone income keep lowering, its not fucking food or a house. >>743394113There are few us game that are cheaper. The Simpsons Game on PS3 cost 20e in burgerlands, in France its 60e.Limited Run is already more expansive than older eu game. Its only good if you are americain i guess? Even then i would rather buy a flashcard or mod it. The old days of collecting are gone
Bought silent hill 1-4 all for $160 a day before covid lockdowns from some fuckin IDIOT hahaha
>>743393524If the PS2 would have had a digital store it would have been closed down decades ago and the games would have been delisted leaving you with zero ways to play the game today. In the future digital games will not be "complete" local installs and you can not emulate and pirate them. Enjoy your digital games.
>>743394057>New
>>743393524Would you like some cheese with that whine?
>>743393670Sony stopped making PS1 and PS2 discs in 2019 and nobody knows how to replicate the copy protection or wants to open that can of wormshttps://x.com/JoshFairhurst/status/1232818136073764871
>>743394398>If the PS2 would have had a digital store it would have been closed down decades agoIf the PS2 had a digital store, every generation after it would've had backwards compatibility. As soon as the PS3 introduced digital distribution, Sony settled on Blu-rays for every future console. The only barrier to seamless emulation would've been the PS3's CELL processor, but most people having already established digital PS2 libraries would've given Sony a reason to keep the EE chip in the PS3, instead of removing it years later when they realized that everyone with physical PS2 games still had a PS2 and they were losing money for no good reason keeping it in there. If the PS3 was a success, R&D would've probably found a way to retain the capabilities of EE in their new x86-64 architecture. Because it was a flop, EE was thrown out along with PS2 compatibility.
>>743396283Weird how Nintendo is fine with it, but Sony isn't. Given LRG has done repos of the NES, SNES and GBA.Though the quality of LRG's carts are all over the place.
>>743393524imagine paying that much for a physical disc only to find that when you actually open it, it cant be played due to disc rot.
